This site is here to provide information, reviews, and tutorials on buying, using, and upgrading radio controlled cars, with a focus on doing so with a limited budget. Not everybody can or wants to pour huge amounts of money into this hobby, but we're here to show you that you don't have to!

Great Job!!
Thanks!
How much will you charge me for a general lee
How much will you charge me for a general lee
Kol Me Plex Iwte 1970 Ed🙏🙏
Love how it turned out and sits
These get 45mph on a good 2s..i watched several videos of this car..its fast!
I think they're overgeared. Mine actually got faster when I converted it to the General Lee with the smaller tires even though it doubled in weight.
So didn't you also upgrade radio and esc? I know that adds power and top end speed since i have seen demos...but yes if motor could not reach its rpm max smaller diameter tires could fix that..yes it is geared high...i just never noticed or heard anyone complain about its punch..i will get mine soon and will see..thanks
@roadstar499 no, I only changed the servo. I did move up to a full size 500mah battery pack though, but I think I did my GPS run with the original pack, though I honestly don't remember.
Obviously you either had a weaker battery when you tested..just because it was a stock battery does not mean it had same punch as the other stock batteries..thanks
@@roadstar499 or it's overgeared.
hello, does it fit with 1.55" like yeti jr ? i think 1.9" way too big. does it fit with axial jr upgrade parts ? funny thing is they still sale it on chinese marketplace and im condisdering ordering one. thanks
It should. I don't think I ever tried 1.55s, but it's all the same as a Yeti Jr.
@@BudgetRC_Channel thanks
its wierd mine wont work on 3s and on the box they call the esc a governor?
Nice job!
Thanks!
cloud flare is blocking the hobbyking bullshit website
Hey man.... EXCELLENT JOB on this 1/10th scale General Lee body. Is there anyway I could pay you to make me a completely finished one just like this one ??? Looking forward to hearing from you
I haven't had mine two hours and the esc just went poof smoke every were, I took the original esc out and replaced it with a hyper go esc, y'all let me be the first one to tell you it screams now, it scared me when I held it and gave it full throttle, the tires bloomed up really fast, when I pull the trigger the power is instant no slow build up, this buggy is going to be stupid fast it might out run my legendary Sonic beast I will test the speed tomorrow
Mine was just delivered 20 minutes ago checking it out now, 4300 KV motor and 19 tooth pinion gear
What is the wheelbase on those? I'm building a Kyosho 1/10 PureTen GP FW-06 Chassis (nitro-powered) and I want to make it a General Lee. This car needs a body with a 258mm wheelbase. What body do you recommend?
The kyosho bodies are 275mm. The Team Blue Groove and APlastiks bodies are the standard 250mm wheelbase, which is probably as close as you'll get.
Thanks for all your information in this video. I reached out to Team Blue Groove, and they told me that they don't make this body anymore. Anyway, I'm going to try the APlastics one, and we'll see how it goes. @BudgetRC_Channel
@OrcaBoat3 wow, that's surprising. It figures because I'm still working on getting my build with that body done and on the channel, and now it might be of no value to people.
@@BudgetRC_Channel This is what they said in an email: "Unfortunately, we don't make it. The charger touring mould was damaged and has been discontinued." 😮💨
@@OrcaBoat3 man that sucks
Still the best car in television history. On one of the best tv shows ever.
That was awesome guys! :)
Thanks!
Where can I get those cv axles please let me know mine keeps breaking axles fron popping out and I've had to change the axles twice m8ne has the open cv's and they dontbturn good at all and I had to plastic weld the axles together bc the ends were always sliding off and breaking the bolt holes
You can get them right from Redcat or any Redcat dealer.
Could you use the slipped clutch and 2 piece drive shaft upgrade then find a 1/10 shaft set instead?
I'm not real sure, I'm not super familiar with mods for this platform. Sorry!
Hello I like you're other cars.i have the Malibu General Lee. With the Vector wells. I got Bo and John in mine. I don't Run it because I have it signed by a few Dukes. If you would like to see it send me link that's can send you a picture. Thanks and keep up the great work. Yee Haa God Bless the General Lee.
What kind of guitar string did you make the antenna out of if you don't mind me asking.
I think I used a "G" string from a normal set of 10-46. It was the largest unwound string that I had laying around.
The 1/12 General Lee by Ramen Toy would be the one to make R/C
Thank you man. Been slamming my head against the wall attempting this for 2 hours
Glad I could help
Awesome job. I wanna tackle this project some day.
I was just wondering how the other 2 General Lee builds were going. I'm really glad that I watched your video because I was having a hard time finding correct looking General Lee decals until I saw the ones that you used and I've been a dedicated customer to MCI Racing when it comes to General Lee decals.
Saweet love how it looks and sits
I don't like how small the stars are but the colors are more vibrant than what I had
Great DIY vid! Now that TBone closed, I’ll try making a bumper for bashing. What thickness Kydex do you recommend for a 1/8 truggy bumper?
Probably 1/8" or 3mm
Brilliant.!! This has to be a must do for all car guys.
Man, you do a great job with these vids. So easy to follow along. I've saved your Fazer build, and I'll save this one. Real busy atm, but this build is on my 'to do list' Ever considered doing any other iconic car builds?, Night Rider, Starskey & Hutch, the A-Team van.?? This is a great channel man. Your good at this mate.
I definitely have more in mind, but I'm not done with the Dukes stuff yet.
I ordered the decals from mci racing over a week ago and they still haven't shipped them. Do orders take awhile from there?
They're in Canada, so sometimes it can take a while, especially if you're in the south.
@@BudgetRC_Channel he was on vacation he didn't process my order til over a week
Hi, thanks, great review. Can you please tell me, if it's got ''battery securuty shutt-off'' at 6,8 V fir S2 and/or 10,2 for S3 to prevent DEAD-DRAIN of the battery ? Thanks
It has a low voltage cutoff, but I don't know what voltage it's at.
@@BudgetRC_Channel Thanks
40mph out of the box is all I could get. Going to change the nobby tires to some street ones and see if that makes a difference.
Fantastic 😍
turn the mounts around and they work fine. did the same to my slash
What are all of the scale sizes you received with a 1/10 order?
Not sure what you mean?
Budget the cheapest I found one of these is for 1,500.00
That's because they're discontinued now. The cars were $250 forever.
@@BudgetRC_Channel oh yeah that's a budget price
So the bearing that comes out , do you re use the bearing? Or delete it
What bearing? Sorry, it's been years since I touched this truck. I don't think I remember deleting any bearings though.
PS. You can also use paperclips in place of body clips in case u dont have spare body clips
@BudgetRC_Channel White international Scout. HOW MUCH TO MAKE ME A IDENTICAL BODY SAME COLOR. I HAVE THE SAME TRUCK IN REAL LIFE. THANKS
Sorry, I don't really have the time to do a body right now, but there are plenty of giys that paint rc bodies. Find your local track and start seeing who has custom paint work and see who's doing it for them.
love this! brings back memories of when we used to do this decades ago. but back then we didn't have gopro type cameras which would have helped a ton
Where did u find these
I made them. I have build videos for every car in the video.
What brand is the Z-28 body??
Delta Plastik
It's the same as the FTX Mauler. They have some serious flaws out of the box. But thanks to that chassis they make a great platform for a modified custom build.
What’s the max voltage before it starts to burn? Trying to do a brushless conversion with a boat.
No idea. I only used 2s on it. Usually these cheap ESCs say 3s, but they don't last for too long on 3s.
Good job, thanks! I thought they were the same other than the blower.
This part MUST be springy
It was pretty rigid. When kydex is cool, it's a lot more rigid than ABS.
@BudgetRC_Channel it SHOULD be springy otherwise it will not actually BUMP. If you crash, instead it will just break.... I don't crash, but I know.
@TheSphongleface it's got enough compliance to not break, but it's not as flimsy as ABS
Hello, Great Video. Do you think that Kyosho body shell would fit on a Traxxas slash LCG chassis? and if not do you have a suggestion? thank you
It's way too small for a Slash. Wheelbase is only about 275mm and is about 200mm wide.
@@BudgetRC_Channel I appreciate the response, I found the Kyosho dimensions and figured it was too small. I am using a ProForm body shell, although a 1970 Charger. The only difference I can tell is the front end. 69 has a divider in the middle of the grill. The chassis is done, Preliminary shell fittings seem to be positive. I'll keep you updated how it comes out, thanks for the video.
Another great build Rob good job! I finally got my General Lee built. How do I contact you to share my build on your site? Just a good old boys.....
I think you have the wrong guy. I don't have a website.
@@BudgetRC_Channel I see that now sorry. Thanks!
So that malibu international general lee will that fit in the charger fazer chassie
The Malibu body is the same wheelbase, but the Fazer chassis is too wide for the Malibu body to fit. You need to stretch a narrower chassis to work with the Malibu.
I've really enjoyed watching your first two General Lee videos. You did an awesome job on them and I just can't wait to see your other two General Lee builds.
