  Hi , I have one too but not driven it hard yet , I wonder if you could tell me your experiance level? I have just started caterham academy this year and been on coomb twice in the academy cars - managing a quite slow (but fast for me !) 128s laps with my son getting a 120! when i compare some of your cornering speeds i find them a bit low compared to the academy car so just great to hear what sort of percentage you were driving at . love the atom and the caterham is a real hoot especially given its lack of power and cheapness (relative to atom)

  I drive for fun. Cornering at Combe is at safe levels due to not wanting to have an incident. Probably 80% of max. Definitely more to come from the car and tyres. If you have race experience you could go significantly faster. I have no race experience. This is fun for me and there are lots of incidents each day when untrained people try too hard or suffer from the red mist. Combe can bite. Also remember these are track days and you aren't racing anyone. You are supposed to drive with safety margin to ensure safety for everyone with massively different cars and experience levels. Driving at 100% with different cars and complete novices on track at the same time is a recipe for lots of incidents.

  @@arielatomvideos4350 Hi mate - totally get that ! I am captain slow and treating my academy season a marathon not a sprint - so many push too hard and crash spin off loosing them time . And yes agree comb can and does bite ! enjoy and look out for me at an event and say hi

  Different drivers and confidence levels are a major factor. But the 4 is definitely quicker.

  @@arielatomvideos4350 yeah seen that. The guy in the yellow atom.. We blew a oil line to the engine oil cooler and dumped oil under our rear wheels. Lucky it never happened coming up avon rise. The whole outcome could of been a lot worse. Those Atoms you chaps had are absolute weapons..

  The level of grip the Atom has without special Aero is insane, and you sir are a mighty pilot! Keep up the good work, and I might say that you are not just into amateur racing but you did sometimes a couple of professional racing of your own, the perfect trace at every corner isn't for everybody!

  Very curious where you have the camera mounted, this position is about perfect! Do you have it posted on the forums maybe?

  Camera is mounted on the black fibre glass bodywork just under the engine air intake. Its not on the removable section, its on the part bolted to the car. Its drivers eye height to give the correct angle. The mount is NOT fitted in the channel profile pic or it would be visible in that picture on the extreme right.

  It shifts really hard on straights. Your lines are good but it seems to me you're a bit shy especially in the fast corners. Is it the lack of downforce or some balance issue who makes you feather the throttle ? The car seems to be settled to understeer entry and mid-corner. On exit it seems to nicely squat and get off.

  It is fair to say I am careful in the fast corners. I am slowly learning to trust the car at higher speed in the corners, and understand the dynamics. Great fun!

  Wow I see your frustration over that idiot in the Black Porsche he would not move over clearly you are much quicker than him, you did the best thing go in as you could back off but only to catch up in 1/2 a lap, Personally he went so wide in some corners i would have darted past him coming out of camp, well done keeping Mostly cool hehe.

  The driver had complained about me apparently so i had been told to be less aggressive with the overtakes. Utter rubbish. I am never aggressive. Bad marshalling really. Sadly no blue flags at Combe. 🙁

  Hi can i ask what set up do you have on the Atom 4 for the video track g force and speed etc overlay on video, i am looking for same set up i am collecting my Atom 4 i hope 25th September i am booked in at Castle cCoombe 21st October need to get few miles on her and get 1st service 1 month :} Castle Coombe and Good wood my favourite tracks but next year hope to go ver to Spa i raced there 10 years ago in Formula Ford, amazing track . Where are you based. :}

  It's just a GoPro hero 5 Black Camera and using the Quik software for the overlays. Then I stitch the files together on PC before uploading to KZread. Taken a while to work it out and it is clunky but the results are good.

  Hi can I ask your lap times at Coombe it is my local I raced Formula Ford for 7 years best I could ever get was 1.14 I am up next week in my GR Yaris will be interesting and early September after nearly three years I am picking up my Atom 4 from Factory. 😊 booked in mid October track day with SCC can’t wait to see how she goes not driven one yet 😂

  How are you finding the GR Yaris on track? I am considering one for a winter track car/daily assuming I can find one to test out. Re: lap times, Atom 3.5R does Castle Coombe in a 1:10 Porsche GT3 similar. Atom 4 from my experience is a little quicker than the GT3 by about 2s a lap for a decent driver. So round there a 1:08 would be a quick time imo assuming it's cold so the Atom doesn't overheat the tyres and engine that is. On a hot day you can easily be 4s slower than that.
