Left side for me is worse than right I also have long head bicep pain in left side. Is there anything you'd really recommend that might help me strengthen and fix the problems. Many thanks.

    Hey there. Australian physio myself. I have had chronic low back and hip oain for years. I also consider myself an evudence based practitioner. I have consulted with excellent clinicians and done extensive graded activity. Frankly, i dont give a fuck what the evidence says here. The PRI guys are on to something and I'm not waiting for a meta to implement. Conner isnt doing ridiculous expensive stuff either, 40 bucks for the beginner program and it worth every cent.

  • @ericwienecke5366
    @ericwienecke53663 ай бұрын

    Just a heads up... you probably know this, but Conor is just speaking in generalities. Your rebuddle, especially towards the beginning of the video is nitpicking and providing conjecture to a video in which Conor doesn't have the opportunity to defend his position on these points. Generally Conor is correct, you are just expanding on his concepts.

  • @Physioplusfitness

    How so? Please give me an example of something I say that is not backed by evidence

  • @diegonovati3821
    @diegonovati38213 ай бұрын

    @@Physioplusfitness Okay. Let me explain what I mean. First, you are talking about ‘placebo’ and ‘drama’ …. I strongly disagree. Yes, the placebo effect has a place in everything, and this is a fact, and the placebo can create a ‘miracle’ effect. But I agree with you about neurological involvement in the technique. First of all, the hammer and chisel isn’t something new and has been used in treatments for many years (some say for around 5000 years, but I’m not so sure about the number). For instance, toksen therapy - I recommend it, I've tried it, and I loved it. Instead of hammer and chisel you can use different tools, but idea of action is the same. Regarding the technique - normally (!!!) it is used over muscle body or tendons or ligaments, depending on goals. Muscle spindles, Golgi tendon apparatus, etc. are most involved in the idea of the technique. Also, don’t forget about mechanical and acoustic vibration. And yes, as I said, I agree with you regarding neurological component involvement. Also, you are NOT hammering bones or directly over bones (although there are funny videos of so-called practitioners hitting bones and enjoying the excruciating reaction of patients). Of course, you can give me an example from chiropractic activator tool, but it is slightly different story even if it acts in a similar way (mainly). So, I strongly disagree with your ‘placebo and drama’ effect as an idea and the soul of the technique. Would it be so, then you have to deny the function of muscle spindles, Golgi tendons, vibration as a modality, active release, reset, etc. etc. etc. The part related to consciousness and subconscious component I leave without comment, I just hope you are a psychotherapist or psychologist (or maybe you just stated your learning), but I disagree on this point too. Pain, as you are fully aware, is a subjective perception mostly, and pain is a very huge subject (which I love much). The psychology of pain is another enormous subject full of really exciting facts, research, methods, and techniques. Important: as we all, you have right to have and express your opinion as I can have mine, and there is no right or wrong, bad or good. I’m just saying that I disagree with your statement (baseless in my opinion, or you just do not provide a proper ‘base’ for your opinion). Also, we both (I think you agree with this) do not know the patient's Hx and Dx and goals for hammering lol. And now directly to your question regarding evidence: I’m really sorry, but you didn’t provide any evidence confirming your opinion and/or explaining your opinion (you only expressed your opinion and concluded using your view on psychology). I love the subject and always happy to discuss further in search for further understanding and truth. Socratic method? Let’s try? What d’you think?
