  Use a check chain. Short jerk if pulls, then let lead go loose. Simple. I've used this method for 50+ years on all my nine Basset Hounds and they've all walked beautifully on a lead. Barbara Woodhouse promoted that method 50 years ago and it ha always worked for me. These stupid K9 harnesses are a waste of money.

  “Yes” is my Terminal Marker which means release and reward or come to me for reward while “Good” is my Continuation Marker which means reward but stay in position or I come to you for reward

  that is very true, but the leash is the failsafe and thats why we use them so people don’t try to kill our pets for things pets generally don’t see as wrong

  @@typer2909 yes I can see that depends on the training level of the dog/handler team. My service dogs were intelligent and had high work ethic. Overtrained definitely. First one would find the Taco trucks in any town we drove in, found what was causing the strokes and seizures, and liked his dog biscuits buttered. Second service dog was a rescued Blue heeler / dinosaur cross. Was supposed to be a pet and the blue dude trained himself in 2 weeks🦸🏽. Last just died at near 20. Last park concert we were at he found a small baby having seizures. All three were off leash always to care for my medical needs. Off leash. Every where except the grocery store. Than tied around my waist to Protect the dog. Uncivilized population (USA). I carry tazers etc. for dog protection. I make it easy, they wear vests. Keep your hands off. Million volts. Just want to get groceries.

  Because my dog feels sad that the other dogs get to have no leash on, but my dog doesn’t which makes my dog sad that’s why I don’t think it’s fair for my dog

  I think people who get the most upset may have a fear of dogs. They don't know how well trained your dog is. And maybe even if they did, seeing a physical leash just gives them peace of mind.

  @@AustinLarameeDogTrainer I'm definitely incorporating your methods with my wee pup. Any recommendations on getting her to bark whenever she needs to pee? She's pretty quiet unless other people are around.

  I’ll make a video on it! That’s a great topic. The best way to potty train though it through crate training, as a healthy dog will not go in their crate if it’s the right size for them. I just teach my dogs that we go potty on my time. Of course, I’m fair to them and take them out according to their age and level.

  Wow, I don't mean to be mean, but that dog is already trained. I need a video showing a dog who's REALLY pulling. I have 2 of them. The way your dog is pulling isn't the way my dogs pull.

  Thanks, Austin. My dogs really pull, and I can't use the head halter, so I use the harness that clips in the front. Consequently, my dogs and I never walk 😢

  @@karendonoher-rager7635 harnesses are the worst thing to teach a dog not to pull. I actually use harnesses when I’m teaching competition dogs TO pull 😂 Get yourself a good slip leash! 😁😁

  Is a slip leash ok for a poodle? I’d rather have my mini pull me to the end of the earth than put a slip leash on him. So this with a harness, that’s training. Poodles are smart, they don’t need hurting to get it.

  Yes, slip leash is a very good training tool! Your dog won’t get hurt if you train them how to walk lol 🤷🏻‍♂️😂
