All emotions stem from a persoective about how the world works and what a person values. So, if you propose a person not solve their emotional issues through intellect, how then should they solve their emotional issues?

    10. Why would anyone stay in an entire relationship if the other doesn't actually love them? 9. Depends OF the career imo. 7. Warranted after too long. 4. This should have been discussed early in the relationship. It's an entireyvalid reason to leave if one or the other isn't in agreement. 1. Depends on the friends and whether their activities are noxious in general (dangerous activities, excessive substance consumption, etc.) or deliberately undermining an otherwise healthy relationship. The rest are true.

Its deeper than low self-esteem, its fear of abandonment 🥴🙃🏎 veteran here! yet I'm not anxious as Im trustful and I even don't care at all when Im next to the person, I'm carefree because I have consistency confirmation and nutricion. In the emptiness I over desrealize.

shouldn;t being smart make you realize this cycle and then come up with a solution to break it ? i mean i see it as more of a will problem than "drilled in our brain problem" ; in addition , isn't Warren Buffet book smart ? and he isn't doing too bad ..... just saying .....

I think there was a time when college degrees and especially PhDs were the ticket to a good life. But they've gotten too common where they are no longer tickets but passports. There's also globalization where the competition is global. The best from the "Ivy league" of other countries are just as good as American ones and they are competing for spots in Google, McKinsey, and Godman Sachs.

When I got bladder cancer, I felt fear. So I went to Taber’s and the internet, found out what it is, how it’s treated, what can cause it, outcomes, prognosis, and I felt a sense of control. This is what I do because I do not enjoy being in a state of chaotic fear. Don’t really see a downside. Some people didn’t like the character of Mr. Spock on Star Trek. Hey, he was ok with me.

But education DOES correlate with higher income on average. Unfortunately not in every case: poor subject/major choices (e.g. it's hard to earn good money after graduating humanities), poor job choices, poor skills not taught in school e.g. due too being raised up in a pathological family (e.g. lack of communication skills, personal finance skills, smart risk taking, certain degree of self-confidence, self-motivation, ...), but those skills can be learned. "Rich dad poor dad" is the most terrible avice you can give, it's actually an anti-advice, just well as 99% of self-help books. In reality, education DOES matter, salary-working also DOES matter (in early career in particular), they're just too little as I mentioned above.

The worst part about this mechanism (as is displayed very evidently in this comments section) is that it’s probably one of the easiest mechanisms to pass off as normal and even superior 🤦‍♂️ It is funny because if someone is actually intelligent they will consider the possibility that they need to allow their emotions to guide their decisions sometimes, as I’ve found out.

An intelligent person loves men and women who know how to act. I'm waiting for all the apps. All of them. And they're all coming together. No need for any video game play unless. I hope the apps are closed by 31st of this month July. Thank you.

Honest question because this got me to thinking. Thr first example of this defense mechanism, as long as the apologies are sincere and they stop after the shame of my actions have faded, and the makeup behavior becomes corrected behavior (ceasing to do the hurtful/offensive thing again) is this still undoing? If it is I would like to know. I tend to do things after sin like counteract distress or guilt with meditation, until it becomes smaller and easier to manage. I also use the next example shown as temporary remedy to emotional distress, because I tend to feel self deletus when I do something idiotic/wrong, even if it was a human mistake. Am I doing something manipulative/selfish/unhealthy?
