    Thank you for your review on the cages. Do you still have them? How are the holding up? Have you been forced to make any modifications? Has the water system leaked? I have two brand new 5 layer Hatching Time quail cages. I really regret going with them. One came missing parts. The other leaks like crazy from the square end plug that is assembled at the factory and on the black hose at the connections. We made sure there was no space in the black hoses and worked to get a tight fit. To get items replaced from HT, one must take several pictures of the box, label, problems, etc. It creates more frustration and emails than necessary. I asked them how was I supposed to take a picture of a missing part? So many emails and time! Not very efficient. We gave up dealing with their customer service and are using JB water weld and hose clamps to solve the problems that came with the $826 5-layer cage. For that price, you would expect turn-key, but we are having to make daily repairs to brand new cages. When we looked to see if others have an issue with them, we learned the heavy leaking issues goes back several years and is a very, very common complaint among their customers. I've had my floors and furniture (office in quail barn) damaged, and we lost a few quail due to them running out of water. The first cage we put together was very difficult as the holes did not line up easily and there was a lot of flashing (excess plastic) on the plastic in the holes. The second one was not as hard as the first because the holes lined up better on MOST of the pieces. There was still some flashing we had to cut out with a sharp knife. I also like that you can keep the Wynola Ranch cages inside or out. I'd prefer to have mine outside.

    The cage did great! Got messy real fast. Had to clean it like 2-3 times a week. The water system worked great other than stinking for whatever reason. We could not figure out why. We did end up eating all of them. They were bringing in more snakes than all my other animals together. Almost everyday there was a snake in the cage and got stuck killing all the birds in there. Then they would be nice to each other one day and the next everyone was scalped. I love the meat and eggs but they are way more trouble than they are worth.

    Do you know the exact price you paid for the cages?

  • @triplehfarmnc
    @triplehfarmnc11 күн бұрын

    I don’t remember the exact price but I do know it was more then $600 but less then $1000. My husband customized the cage but I think they sell this specific cage now.

    Hi there. Just some insight, rabbits can get sore hocks from wiring bottoms. Also, bottles are outdated and it has been proved that they do better with bowls. They also need a constant supply of hay to prevent GI stasis.

  • @triplehfarmnc
    @triplehfarmncАй бұрын

    Thank you! They do have feed rests in each cage. I understand that bowls are good but on our homestead the bottle work great. They drink an entire bottle a day. No they don’t leek we have checked. So they are getting plenty of water. They get hay quite often though technically they don’t need it with the pellets. I do appreciate the suggestion though. Thank you.

    We raise rabbits for meat and i am just looking into making our sausage. I figure a bit of our pork back fat grinded in would make this delicious. How long does it take you to debone the rabbits, and what parts of the rabbit are you using for the sausage?

  • @triplehfarmnc
    @triplehfarmnc2 ай бұрын

    The two of us took about 5-6 hours to debone them. We are using all of the rabbits! Using as much meat off them as we can. Rabbits are small, we dispatch at 12-14 weeks, so we use what we can.

    Just something for them to chew on. It also helps grind there teeth. They grow like finger nails, never stopping, so I have to give them something to keep there teeth down. I use pine cones, untreated wood, apple branches when I trim them back.
