Eyes Closed Climbing

Eyes Closed Climbing

On this channel I try to make people aware of this way of climbing where you need to be much more concentrated on your body position and the holds you are about to use next.
This way of climbing feels quite different and I hope that you feel motivated to try it yourself.

    It's just for the fun/challenge of it. There's this part of getting to know the moves and where the holds are and also the part of being much more aware of one's body position and the minutes changes of balance. Give it a try with challenges below your climbing level ;)

    Slabs suit well my way of climbing that relies a lot of being super aware of the body and the shifts of balance points....but I know it's not for everyone . Specially if the slab goes too high and you have extremely bad foot holds to test you nerves :D

    Yeah, climbing gets much easier when you figure out the movement and body position envisioned by the route setters. If something seems harder than it should be and you can't figure out why so just ask to other climbers at the gym. Climbing is a very friendly activity. I'm sure you'll get good tips if you dare to ask :)

The main drive of this channel is to share boulders that I enjoyed climbing and that I figured they could be done blind sighted hoping these videos might inspire others to try also to do these kind of shenanigans :)

    I enjoy the challenge of doing it with eyes closed. I do the boulder a few times to dial in the moves and in order for the body to memorize where it should be at each given time during the send then I work on it with eyes closed. Sometimes things go quick.....others there's a move that's hard to dial in and it takes me a while to unlock it. At the end of the day it's a different way of climbing that procures you with a different array of sensations from climbing with eyes open :)

  • @CoNteMpTone

  • @Arfizato
    @Arfizato7 ай бұрын

    Tips for beginners are just start. Climbing isn't nearly as scary as people who never climbed think it is. If you get stuck at something ask for help most climbers would love to help out with the beta or help fix a problem with the technique. And about coming down you can either jump or climb down using any hold you can reach. Most gyms have neutral holds specifically for climbing down

    Well, the boulder was supposed to be a coordination move and it would be more hard to get it done the official way.....at least for someone like me that hates so much that style of climbing. The grade of the boulder is actually V6. It looks more easy than it is because I'm quite handy with balancy problems. And mind you that the first dish on the left part of the boulder I crimp it with my finger nails otherwise I wouldn't be able to be stable enough to reach the next hold.

    Well.......when I started the channel my idea was to show a boulder then explain all the different intricacies of physics and centers of gravity and whatnot. I eventually dropped that idea when I made the first video and discovered my calm and collected way of talking made the whole thing feel kinda dull and not very interesting but kept the channel to share my climbing adventures that eventually got me into sharing this crazy idea I got of memorizing all the moves of a boulder to end up doing it with my eyes closed.
