Most states don't even make public doctor and other providers disciplinary records for the ones they sanctioned. For the ones they refuse to sanction, there won't be any record at all. This is terrible. Not all is medical treatments the most expensive in the US by a huge margin, the quality is pretty terrible compared to Europe or Japan.

There's an asthma medication that may increase the risk of fatal asthma attacks. Let that sink in for a bit. A medication designed to prevent &/or stop fatal asthma attacks, and one of its side effects is an increased chance of fatal asthma attacks. This drug is being hawked on TV. If ever there was a need for "You had ONE JOB!", this is it. The FDA needs to have its power restored, instead of being the toothless shadow of its former self, existing only as a depressed and disappointing rubber stamp. Frankly, if anyTHING is supposed to prevent something from happening, and it only increases the likelihood of that something happening, that thing should never have gotten that job! See also: the entire trump cabinet.

My own house happens to get its TV and Web services via Comcast, and rarely have they let my house down in terms of services not available over the air; of course, I cannot write for the majority of customers. I'm not surprised that Comcast is interested in purchasing the cable-service wing from Time Warner Communications Group; but didn't Congress throw some caltrops into this plan for sale a century ago, in the form of the Sherman Antitrust Act? Apparently, as much as the mega-railroad was the octopus of the turn of the 20th Century, the communications service provider is the octopus of today, and not just Stateside. As I understand things, the Trans-Pacific Partnership has, among other companies, Comcast representing the United States; and Congress has been snowballed by the Partnership. Not good - how is Congress supposed to write a Trans-Pacific Partnership Implementation Act if they haven't access to the proposed treaty?
