@@JoeTheJazzMan What did you not like? I'm thinking about visiting Kiruna but so far what I see with the town under construction got me concerned.
@@malichicu its gotten way better here over the past three months, now its actually starting to look like a town lol. we got some great things here, especially if you're not used to the climate so i'd recommend visiting, who knows, i might even invite you for a cup of coffee if you visit! lol

Where is the town it self? U forgot to film it.
Did that trip in January 2001, including transfer by dog sled quite late at night, 2 nights in the cabin and one night in the Icehotel, was stunning and well worth the expense!
I will be back the next year for the 6th time. It's the better and my favorite place to fishing in Europe. Great.

Yes, the northern lights season starts in late August until approximately the third week of March.

Hi Brad, this movie is from Kiruna in Swedish Lapland. It is an arctic destination 200km above the arctic circle. Maybe this area is similar to the arctic region of Russia?

Hello! For a great chanse to see Northern lights close to your hotel we could reccomend you to visit the village Abisko in Kiruna, the best place in the world to see northern lights according to national geographic. For example you can stay at Abisko Mountain Lodge or STF Abisko Turiststation. Icehotel have also warm accommodation as hotel rooms and cabines if you would like to stay in Jukkasjärvi. For best chanse of seeing northern lights we reccomend you to book a guided tour, they can take you to places with no light polution with snowmobile, dogsled or car. Warm welcome to Kiruna!

I lived closed to Kiruna as a little girl with my father. Kiruna stayed in my dreams I could never forget the Sames, the Eurora , the vintersnow with which we made houses as children, the vinter darkness and the beautiful sommers with the constant sounds of the river. Thank You to my artist father who understood this beauty and gave this insite of my country to me which has helped me all through my life to know that this world has places of incredible peece and beauty.
Now that's a two-fer for ya - seeing the Aurora and meeting Sami people. They look to me like they are closely related to Native North, Central and South Americans.
