Saw Barney in a small community center in east Vancouver - was great - and he signed our cd's etc - super musician - sounds same live as on the recordings - not many like that - long live barney!

This is brilliant! I love that it's not edited, and we can see everything in a relatively 'raw' format. It's also fantastic to have such a rare insight into the camera blocking of a multi-cam show, something which is often aggressively hidden from public view.

I am sad to see how cruel some people can be. I do not know the whole story. I thought Buffy said she was told she was adopted by her adoptive mom. The brother and sister look North European while Buffy looks like she could have been Geronimo's sister or cousin. If Buffy is not really indigenous, then I would be certain, the sacred spirit of a Native North American has merged into her soul. Saw Buffy and her bands twice at outdoor concerts. In Canada and at Lincoln Center in NYC. Buffy's songs are as good or even better than most any other talented artist. I'm still a lifelong fan. I sing and play at open mics for free. For the love of sharing music. If I do a cover song, I always mention the artist singer songwriters. Buffy's albums are right alongside my Beatles and Kinks and Stones and Bee Gees albums. Thanks for the awesome music and wisdom Buffy! Forever fan.

Buffy's parents are Italian and English. Maybe she took after her father's Italian looks? Italian actors were used to play Indians in old Hollywood movies. I'm still waiting to see how Buffy will defend herself. I think the best thing she can do is to present records of her adoption from Canada. She could also show records related to her becoming a U.S citizen after being adopted from Canada.

I'm Mexican American, but I grew up at the edge of the Apache Reservation here in the New Mexico mountains. I even went to grade school on the Rez. I'm also a musician, and I was very moved by her music when I discovered it. I agree that it is a bit cruel how she his being bashed. Even the first person who responded to you did not acknowledge anything you said about her music. Even though she was creating a gross, even outlandish lie of a persona, if you really think about it, that's entertainment. I feel her story is a very unique example of the true psychological limitations of entertainment vs. sacred music. How "wrong" was she to give the public what it wanted. Right down to the playing the part for the awards she was receiving as "Native American." Music more and more become a media-driven production and presentation with the general goal of "entertaining." How ironic that she pretended to be Native American to use her work to bring awareness to the American Indian. I am a note-to-color music theorist gone film-maker. I invite you and other views to see my mini-film about Buffy Sainte-Marie. It think it address a lot of the issues you bring up. Your, _Acoustic Rabbit Hole_ The film is at the top of my page here in June, 2024, or search: "Buffy Sainte-Marie: The lie that was never told. A film by Frank Montoya."

Thank you for this!🤗 I saw a comment in Reddit, I believe. It's interesting to see behind the scenes. I'm also intrigued because Madeline said she was "scarred" working on the show.🥺💔 Daniel alluded that Madeline was an unhappy child, and they took that vibe and wrote her character around it. But Madeline stated in interviews that other sets treated her like the child she was, and not like a prop.🙁 By the looks of it here, Fran seems very no-nonsense. Maybe Madeline was expecting to be coddled and nurtured, and the set was all business. To be fair, child actors are living in an adult world where time is money. As executive producer, Fran doesn't look like she had the time to be a "real" Nanny to Madeline or any of the other kids. She spoke to Ben like he was an adult, and I didn't detect any warmth there.🥺 But Madeline did the table reading during the pandemic, so she apparently didn't hold anything against the show long-term.. but who knows. I wish I knew how Nicole and Ben felt. Anyway, thank you for posting this and Part One!🤗❤️

  • @ruekie

thanks for your explaination I had the same feeling about Fran talking to Ben. In the first part of this behind the scenes you can also see how the person leaning next no Ben to the sofa strokes his head while Fran is saying to him "I didn't like that" (concerning his acting) That reached me so much :( I believe Fran doesn't intend to be mean but she threats him like an adult actor somehow (as you explained Madeleines view) That man just cushions him immediatly 💛

His composition like "She's my Inspiration" is living proof. Thanks to many who made this possible. My last sighting of him was a solo in the basement of Christ's Church at Bloor & Avenue Road in Toronto.
