The Boat Race is a major London event between the UK’s two greatest universities - Oxford and Cambridge. Contested over 4.25 miles of tidal Thames between Putney and Chiswick Bridges, the Race has become synonymous with British tradition and excellence. The Race, which usually takes place in the Easter break, is regularly attended by thousands of spectators and watched by millions more at home.
The Race has established itself as the epitome of amateur sport, raced by scholar athletes who combine academic rigour with elite physical prowess. There is no greater occasion. A Race of excellence, run by the brightest and the best.
This is the Official Video Channel for the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race.

A great experience regardless of which crew won on this historic occasion! All the same, How is it that the first women's boat race did in fact take place on the Thames in 1927 and yet ceased to do so again up until 2015? The evidence is there on film for anyone to see!
Great series but the bald guy is a tit, everything he says sounds like a shit movie quote
Wow this is an odd race. Sarabi seems to have its own distinct style with lots of back swing, but their stroke seat, Jenna Armstrong, look stylistically more similar to Mufasa than to the rest of her boat! And this can be seen most clearly by looking at the blade work on stroke side around the 21 minute mark. The stroke's catches are way sharper than the rest of her boat. Wild
As a cox and a rower, I will say that in the worst situations, these coxes defended their crews. At the end of the day, that earned trust and absolute backing means as much as winning
More like a demolition job than a race.
Oxford course all over the place. Poor steering
The final result misled me into thinking this was a one sided race. What composure the ladies need to stay calm and keep their rhythm and race plan through the first 4+ km. Congratulations to the crew and coaches.
Considering that the Oxford Women's Reserves boat won, the available video footage is extremely dissapointing to Oxford fans. I would have liked to see their celebration, but all coverage cut to men's reserve race, where Cambridge prevailed.
"An Austraian aussie?" eh! An advantage maybe?
Very impressive, CUBC
Great result for the crew and coach Nick. Congratulations gents!
THANKS THANKS THANKS!!!!!!!
Well what could real men do?
What an embarrassment to our country when the rest of the world see what state the Thames is in ! Shameful
are this the backup teams?
not backup - lightweight rowing is for athletes below a certain individual and average crew weight. 59kg max for women, 57kg average. This year's winning Cambridge men's boat stroke man previously rowed as a lightweight but he bulked up a bit to row in the openweight blue boat!
Well done to Cambridge and especially Nick, good coaching
i would be so scared of the e coli backsplash
Dreadful camera work.
Well done, Cambridge
"Well deserved" indeed, though I might argue that Oxford "lost" that race, more so than Cambridge "won" it ? I always find myself hoping Oxford will do well (Not necessarily "win", but do well). I'm afraid this years lightweight men did not look good. Cambridge seemed to have won that race in the opening strokes. The conditions were tough, but Oxford was never in the race.
Drat - not quite another clean sweep! But it's been notable how much smoother the Cambridge crews have been looking technically. Seems that Oxford have been bringing in some new coaching blood - but it's surely time for a rethink?
it should longer be called the Boat Race it should be called Navigate the Turd Race
Or the missing ' christians '.
And missing christians.
It's like Tour de la Rio Tijuana! Ole!!!
Thanks for uploading this. I'm really pleased and grateful to see all this extra footage recently on KZread. Great to see Cambridge win. Although very sorry that the other place had such bad luck with the flooding and time off the water. No-one wants that.
Matthew Pinsent for all his rowing achievements is a rubbish umpire....
Ah, the sewer race.
I read and listened with great interest as I support Cambridge only because my wife and daughter support Oxford. So, has the BBC decided who won yet? It was stated earlier Cambridge, butt the BBC stated Oxford today. Then corrected themselves an hour or so later. BBC continue to spout it is " news you can trust" but it is obvious a bit of a lie.
As the coxes have their backs to the umpire what use are his hand signals? Does someone in the crew have to relay the message? Or maybe he is in wireless contact with the coxes?
The Gemini Boat Race proves that some women do have cox
Cambridge❤
More like turning the turd !,,
Oxford putting their chips on a Cambridge disqualification is so negative. I just might be bias, though.
A paddle in the poo !
Why is there a man in the Oxford women's team?
The cox can be either man or woman, it doesn't row
women commentator..terrible.
It's a shame you've disabled the comments for the actual race. I imagine you're too worried about all the comments focusing on the utter state of the rivers and waterways in the UK post Brexit. They were protected while we were part of the EU but now have turned into a dumping ground so the Tory government can let their friends make fantastic amounts of money at the expense of the environment and the public. What an utter disgrace that the boat race highlights just how bad the situation is.
So the tactic was to get the other team disqualified on purpose to win - sounds like great sportsmanship... 🙄🙄
They should change the rules, so the universities can't bring in ringers. It sounds like only one person on the crew is a real student. The rest will be Olympic rowers
I always enjoy watching Oxford's Americans compete against Cambridge's Americans.
The style of filming is a bit annoying
Knowing how woke and how they are so much into diversity, it's a Wonder the BBC still show these races.
BBC is already asking questions: why are the crews not mixed and why aren’t there an equal amount of ethnic representation 🙄🫣
What a boat the two crews crash into each other at the start whomever comes off best goes on to win .there needs to be buoys in between their stations otherwise ridiculous
I always want Cambridge to win because my Grandad on my father's side went to Cambridge. Lesie Hodgson 1922-2001
Come on - it's the only hard work you will ever do - so do it well!
Outstanding
Surely the title should read "MEET THE WINNING CREW"
Oxford winning
Can't deny I was holding my breath off the start@@jameshobby4229
Some of the best videography in the game!
This is a brilliant very slick professionally made series. Congratulations
I think I’m in love with Rob Baker
This series is extremely well done. Congratulations, you did a fantastic job!
