Children's Wisconsin

Children's Wisconsin

At Children's Wisconsin, we care for every aspect of a child's health. This includes their physical, social and mental well-being. But our expertise goes beyond medical knowledge. We talk to children in ways they can understand. We create child-friendly environments that put kids at ease. And we provide resources that impact their health at home and at school.

Because when we focus 100% on kids and everything they need to be healthy, we unlock innovation in more ways than you might imagine. That's why innovation means more at Children's Wisconsin.

IMHO, the risks outweigh the benefit. connecting through social media groups cannot really help people with subclinical or clinical mental health issues. In fact I have seen some alarming information and advice given by social media support/special interest' groups. Many groups are driven by $$$$$$$ and the desire to gain more visibility. Why not form a better relationship with your child so you can talk directly to them and not via social media? How can strangers give sound advice without knowing a person's life circumstance?

My son Cory was born with Spina Bifida and this brought Dr. Havens into our lives. Cory was in his early teens when we met Dr. Havens. I had met a lot of doctors, raising Cory and taking care of his medical needs. Dr, Havens was kind, caring, truthful and amazing to work with! His attention to detail made Cory healthy again. Cory passed away on May 13, 2023. I was talking to a family member yesterday and she asked which doctor was my favorite to work with. Dr. Havens was first in my mind. Thank you for all you did to help my son Cory!

I just had surgery where I woke up with an NG tube. I'm grateful that I was sleeping when they put it in, but I was also shocked because I didn't know I could've been getting one. This is a great video, especially to show kids getting one.

My latest idea to getting just a tiny bit healthier is doing these. It doesn't even need to take 5 minutes, and it's far, far better than doing nothing, like I have done these last many years.

Hi, my name is Greg. The muscles in my legs, wrist and hands atrophied in the Summer of 1976, when I was twelve (I'm now 59). Over the next 47 year Drs. ruled out the following: MS, MD, Duchene, Kennedy's, CMT, HSP, FSP, and Silvers. There were probably more, but I can't remember them. I was first seen, for a week of testing, by Dr. Jerry Mendell in Columbus, Ohio. This was in the summer of 1980. In the summer of 1984, I spent a week at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. For the past 20 years, I have seen Dr. John Fink at the University of Michigan. I see Doc every 12-18 months. This past year Dr. Fink again brought up the option of having gene sequencing done. This time we followed through and in December of 2022, we received the diagnosis of SORD Deficiency. It was nice to see the description of SORD's presentation. Finally, a disorder which nailed my personal experience.
