  Honestly, that absolute dead stop touch is really freaking hard. I don't mean it's hard to control a cross with the first touch, but Even HIGH level international players can't dead trap a cross without a little bounce. It really must be perfectly timed. The only other person I can clearly remember doing that in game is Ronaldinho. It's a beautiful thing for sure. ***EDIT: I don't mean that players "can't" do it in the of their abilities... But under pressure, marked by a defender and on the attack, usually trapping a ball and stopping pace is a no no. Most players DON'T do it.

  Jacqui, I am on the older side. The first World Cup I have a memory of was Germany 1974. I was a little kid but remember my brother’s excitement about the final and remember a bit of the final. The reason why I say that is because I have watched, played, and listened to the sport for 50 years or so. I remember the excitement of commentators with the hand of god and the subsequent goal of the century (yes, I watched the game live), and many, many other great moments. Too many to tell them here. In all those years I always look for the play-by-play caller who brings the excitement into the game, and that is who I watched. I would always love to listen to the Latin American ones because of their excitement. I would always find the English speakers boring… until you and Arlo White came around. I prefer to watch games which you as the play by play commentator. I hope Fox gives you more games during the euros. The emotion you transmit reflects exactly what is happening on the field. And Whomever had the guts to say you don’t belong, I hope they found a different line of work.
