    That's awesome you found a tool that totally works for you👏 your hair looks beautiful.The only tool I use now is my Dyson blow dryer with no heat to dry my hair 90% then I put my waist long hair in 2 braided pigtails and sleep on it. My hair has always been stick straight but since ditching the dye 4yrs ago and now in my 50s my hair is getting a weird wave in certain areas so with braiding it I can go 3 days without washing sometimes I can push 4 but every night I do have to braid it and not brush it the next morning and it looks fine. I tried the Hemp Organic Lip Balm (Wine). Didn't like it because I had to press lip balm firmly on my lips in order to apply it. In so doing, the tip of the lipstick became somewhat loose . Over the years, I've developed an aversion to most makeup. In my youth, I was a ballerina, so I wore thick, cakey, theatrical makeup for performances. I think that's partly the reason because I hated the feel of the makeup on my skin. Late teens into early 20s I wore mascara, a little blush, and lip gloss when I went out. On special occasions I threw in a little eye shadow, or just use some blush on my eyelids which is my usual go-to in lieu of eye shadow. In my 30s and 40's I added a little eyeliner as it was popular and swapped the lip gloss for lip stick. Since my 50s I feel "overdone" when I wear any of it and I feel like it makes me look older because the makeup gets into my lines and wrinkles. I know I could use some color on my face because I am fairly pale and gray-haired. But to me, I think I look weird. 🤷‍♀️ On a side note, like you, I have invested quite abit of $$$$ on Color the world lipstick, with the same results you had. The colors didn't look the same on me as it did on their matching skin representation on their site. 😒

So I decided to try the bar for pets and had to send it back because my dog was allergic to some of the ingredients in the bar after the 1st wash. Her skin became super pink with spots everywhere. I sent the bar back and got my money back with no problem. The issue I had was they wanted me to leave a product review and I did with a 1 star rating of what the product did to my dog's skin. Well they refused to post my review and I mean several times. Went back to the reviews website and it looks like they do not post reviews under 4 stars. Needless to say I unsubscribed from their shampoo/cond and went on to other shampoo bars but was unhappy with the prices.I learned enough to start making my own bars and customizing them to my own needs. I usually opt for unscented products but I took a chance on the conditioner and am glad I did - the scent is very fresh, natural (not perfume-y) and light and doesn’t linger. For the price I think they’re a huge bargain, they’ve lasted me a long time. One note - I do not keep these in my shower, they should be stored dry so I let them dry in their bamboo holders on my countertop before putting them away until the next wash day. The only down side is that it does take me longer to shampoo and condition my hair. Unlike just pouring the shampoo out of the bottle you do need to rub it and get that lather going and the conditioner takes some time too (FWIW I’ve learned I don’t need nearly as much as I would use of bottled conditioner). Typically that would be no big deal but I’ve been dealing with ankle tendonitis that limits how much time I should spend on my feet so I’ve been opting for bottled shampoo and conditioner lately. But that’s been improving and you’ve inspired me to get these out next time it’s wash day! Their body soap is also lovely!

    Yes, Thank You for this information. I remember my Mother would often shampoo her hair with a bar of Dove soap. She had beautiful long natural gray / white hair from age 30 which in her day was not a common choice for a young woman. She never colored her hair so when it started going gray early in life she just made the transition naturally… unlike her daughters who all colored their hair for many years until we got wise 😆…. Maybe I need to try shampooing with the Dove soap, it sure did make her hair look pretty and shiny ! 😁

    I have graying hair. I love my white streaks, but they are breaking away. I don't do much to my hair. No color or intense heat other than a heated brush I used to straighten my wavy uncontrollable hair. At this point my hair is pretty badly broken and is all different lengths. I was and condition twice a week with a sensitive skin shampoo and I add a few drops of oil to my dry hair after that. I did use a purple shampoo a few times in the last year. I had no idea they were drying. Should I try Olaplex #3 hair mask? I have very very sensitive skin so I avoid fragrance. Do you know what I should do to stop my white from breaking?

    My silver hair is waist length. No heat on it.....ever. I use the best products I can find. A leave in is critical. Its a ten works well for me. I use a wide tooth only. Comb through prior to shampoo to release the hairs that have detached. Protect it from the sun. A braid on a windy day. Sometimes I will use Vitamin E oil and put it up into a bun......then rinse out after at least 6 hours. No curling iron! It could yellow. Good luck. Dryness can also be from humidity.......go to a beauty College for advice.😊 I use an umbrella on sunny days. My hair looks great.❤❤❤❤❤ Braid hair after shampooing while it's about half dry.....and you will have marvelous waves! I taught my husband to braid and it's a lovely thing and much cheaper than a salon that wants 20 dollars to do it.

    I dont understand how you are damaging if you let it air dry?

  • @QuickSilverHair
    @QuickSilverHair23 күн бұрын

    There was a study done on the best way to dry your hair with the least damage. Surprisingly, in the study they found there was damage to the cell membrane complex of the air dried hair. With low porosity hair, you can potentially damage your hair if it takes an incredibly long time for your hair to dry. For instance, it can take four to six hours for my low porosity hair to air dry. Any natural fiber can experience water damage, this would also hold true for hair. You can air dry your hair, just make sure you help speed up the process a little by using a microfiber towel to soak up as much water as you can and maybe sit with your hair under a fan where air is circulating or if you live in a warm dry climate go sit outside (not in the direct sun) to help speed up your dry time. Some people will likely never experience this damage depending on how healthy and/or strong their hair is. But if you notice breakage and split ends air drying could be a culprit.
