You are a king!!!🫡
A used a sanding machine with a “finger “ tip. All the way up to 2000 sandpaper . I did have to sand down the finger so it fitted between the fins
Looking great!
Skip the dawn, spray it down with purple power and rinse.
Purple Power is good stuff!
Well, understand, these are frustrations, but it’s obvious you’ve never worked on a BMW! 😊. Once you work on one of those the stuff you mentioned is kids play
So what works best with the least effort?
Gloves when using a wire wheel is probably NOT recommended - Hope fully not already mentioned I didnt feel like reading a million replies - But don't do it - Huge hazard for catching and ripping a finger off !!
I recognize some of those roads. I 9:46 have a 66 Super Hawk and a 22 RE 650 along with 3 other scooters live in Chelsea. Let me know if you’d ever like to connect. Mike

You picked a hot day to go for a ride. Did you get the 70 CB350 out yet? My vote is for the CB160.
Perfect day on the bike. Getting ready is the hard part. Lol. Dragging the 350 out will have to wait a little bit.
Does anyone know the size of the DC outport?
Again, KoW to the rescue! Thank you!
Awesome!!!
Hey! Im getting ready to add a ton of armor to a supertruck jeep gladiator project (bumpers fenders rockers all aluminum) plus polished wheels. The parts dont weigh much but they are larger than this. Would you suggest a handheld to polish them (im going to powdercoat them with a tinted clear afterward) Great video!
The title is a fail. You didn't use Eastwood Rust Encapsulator so it's misleading.
Thanks for the vid. Do you ever get times when the tape crinkles or shrinks over night? And would you ever spray over the pinstriping with clear lacquer?
wouldnt the tank set in the back one first? let the front set off, just on top of the front mounts, then connect the fuel line, then put the tank down on the mounts?
Thank you, helpful video
Beautiful bike
Thank you!!
Excellent vid! I’m about to start working on mine. My left carb is allowing gas to flow through the overflow tube when I engage the peacock. It’s either the needle or the float. To take the tank off it needs to be empty I imagine. Should I run the bike until it’s empty or do you suggest another way?
You can just pull the carb too. Drain the tank. Easiest is to remove both fuel lines for the carbs and put them into a gas can. Then turn on the petcock. It’s slow but doesn’t make a mess. You could also use a siphon.
Consider hitting it with a solvent like acetone, naphtha or carb cleaner before you get started. You can use a random orbit sander to do the first grit before switching to hand sanding. After you're done, clean it thoroughly with acetone again and then paint it with Engine Enamel to keep it looking fresh for years.
What if you polish it?
When its on LT is it on compression stroke?
CB350 for evah!
There is a new spray call easy Chrome try it
This gonna work without scratches on them ah... ❤
Make that carburator do some push ups!
Might as well try!
How would you free up a stuck block with piston? Lying idle for some years, oxidation caught up inside the walls seizing the piston. Pouring in various liquids from diesel to WD-40 for past month.... Not moved a bit. Any way to save the piston and the block? Thanks
ATF and Marvel mystery oil has worked for some. I’ve had to get very aggressive at times. Block of pine and a rubber mallet.
@@KeepOnWrenching Thanks... I understand your stand... It tests one's patience to pursue this. Does it have to be ATF or just a gearbox oil or any transmission oil would work?
@vintubeable atf is very viscous so it has a better chance of seeping in
@@KeepOnWrenching Ok... Thanks 👍
Yes give it a go! Bound to start no problem.
You have a very positive attitude!
I will tell you what takes clear coat off aluminum is PVC PURPLE PRIMER, I used it on my chevy tailgate name plate, then polish it with mothers aluminum polish, it looked like chrome
I'm gonna give it a shot in a car that my brother is gonna put under my name. The rust one the chrome doesn't look bad, and I couldn't find the actual rims online.
in Minutes????
Nice Scugog tee!! I’m thinking about doing the same for my triumph. Are you concerned about rust forming on the cut line?
Lots of minutes
You can glue tin foil on it and then a few layers of the clear finish.
Thank You!!! I have a light fixture I was thinking about spray painting, I'll just stick with a satin nickel finish!!!
It’ll end up that way anyway!
What bike is that ? I have a 1966 Honda cb160
Understudy for Curly Howard. Great job!
I think everything was well done double check the stabilizer. I’m not sure but I think it goes in the other way.
Also, SKÖL
SKOL!!!
I was unaware that Bumper from Pitch Perfect had a KZread channel on this subject.
lol. That’s a new one. I get Jack Black a lot.
Born and raised up there. Spent my whole life in Anoka County. Went to highschool with Van Mattson. Any relation?
Sheesh, I'm taking it apart and have the wrong snap ring plyers. Here to figure out what I need. 😏 Thanks again!
Having the right tool for the job is such a key to reducing frustration and saving time!
@@KeepOnWrenching I didn't even know there was a inny and outty version😏
I tried using CLR to remove rust stains from the plastic bumpers of my car, and got rid of most of the stains with heavy scrubbing. I also tried it on a rusted patina I tried to protect with rustoleom paint, but it weakedned it a bit. I did however erase a rust spot though.
Good to know. It’s pretty versatile stuff.
Still wrenching
Never stop!
It works on rc car lexan bodies it has to be hot to turn to chrome like 85 in the room for each coat
Thanks for the info!
Blame run on nozzle nope
Sift it and run it again!
I suppose you could!
No products needed besides lacquer cleaner and lacquer polish medium cut and fine cut ! Cheep an effective!
Many paths to the same destination
How is the coating holding up?
Worth every penny. Beats paint hands down.
Thanks. I’ve had my Escape for about 12/13 years and this is my second battery replacement. It’s been a great little system.
It is handy!
How can you be sure you are not taking too much metal off?
You need to measure the cylinder to be make sure it is within the variances
@@KeepOnWrenching Great thanks.
?????? USE YOUR RIM CHANNEL PROPERLY!!!
Practice makes perfect
