A place of great natural beauty and rich cultural resources, the Blue Mountains attracts millions of visitors from throughout Australia and the world, making it one of the more popular tourist destinations in Australia. Information for visitors can be found on our Blue Mountains City Tourism.

Blue Mountains City Council acknowledges that the City of Blue Mountains is located on the traditional lands of the Darug and Gundungurra Nations.

What rubbish. Firstly we Mob don’t MANAGE Country we live with Country. Secondly the NSW Government Departments such as Forestry & NPWS have been evidenced at TWO Inquiries as being deeply corrupt. They also with the appalling RFS who are paid by the hectare to torch Country actively destroy Country by using introduced hot blanket burns which have no place on Country. Thankfully many of us are awake to the propaganda machine that is BMCC. Take a look at the weed infestation in your own Depots BMCC.

The prunings I have are not neat, straight branches that can be easily tied together. The time and effort to clip them into tidy bundles was not worth the couple of hours I spent on it. I now roughly chop them up and when my green bin is full, I stuff the rest into my red bin (which is generally only 1/3 full of actual rubbish). This means I am actually contributing to filling up the available landfill space. Until BMCC reinstates a service where "untidy" branches can be collected/mulched, I will not be using the green waste service.

I've had to buy a chipper cause the dump is never open. I cant wait til 10am opening to start work or finish at 3pm so i can get to the dump by 4pm closing. Or perhaps i could slip in on Saturday between 10am-2pm. Sunday? No, that's the day of rest remember? And it's too expensive anyway. 1 branch $46.

So, what happens to the”bundled greens”? Are they going to end up in the general rubbish dump? Or are they going to be mulched elsewhere? Why cannot the residents improve their garden soil with mulch from the chipping service ( as we used to) ? Ridiculous decision and another downgrading of services for public.

A complete waste of time, a good example of trying to fix something that wasn't broken.I assume it's all for the sake of saving a few dollars using media spin to make it sound like they're improving the service.

After all the floods I am so worried about these little guys, it must have had a massive impact, I have caught these plenty of times but I always release them, I understand how important they are to our ecosystem, hopefully the last floods didn't wipe out to many, the state of some creeks now is not good to much stormwater runoff entering all Blue mountains creeks...

Well this is ridiculous. The piles I have will not tie up neatly in bunches with string. What do our rates pay for exactly? You want us to be bushfire ready yet you get rid of the chipping service? And you have cut the amount of services. What if I wanted to use my chips on my garden? Ridiculous.

this is a joke. the fact the have removed chipping option in the blue mountains of all places is crazy. and im not sure if the council have checked but not everyone's green waste is neat branches that have been especially picked for a youtube video. we all live in the real world where stuff just cant be bundled!

Another cost cutting initiative from the laziest council with the highest rates in NSW... They reduce collection services from 4 to 2 a year and now expect residents to neatly tie branches in a nice little bow... Bring back the kerbside chipping service. There's too much greenery for us residents to deal with let alone tie into neat piles.

We pay the highest council fees around. They used to have 4 collections (2 home waste & 2 green) BUT now we only have 2 collections. They now expect us to do this which makes it harder for older people. Another example of reducing the likelihood of using the service we pay for. If they are serious about recycling, then collect green waste & recycling each week, NOT every fortnight.

This speech should be read at every ANZAC Day service. This was in response to Blue Mountains Council intending to stop ANZAC Day marches this year because of "imagined threats to the March" "Years later 18th Brigade veteran Sergeant Stan Bryant addressed an attentive Anzac Day audience at Sydney’s Martin Place. “I say to all you people here today, to you who are responsible for governing this country, to all you who hold positions of leadership in the community, to all Australians,... it is from the men we honour today that you inherited this land. These were the men who helped build this nation. They were the ones associated with building of our harbours and our bridges. They sealed the roads across the black soil plains, and they built the railways across Australia. Then they fought off the Japanese invasion so that you could inherit this country. “You now have the fruits of our labours. The cities and the harbours and the plains are yours. “We few survivors are aged and can only look on with pride and wish you success in the future. “But we do charge you, to accept the responsibility of your inheritance and nourish and guard them with care. “They paid the price of your future. Only they know the real cost. “And remember - remember - we solemnly promised God that we would never forget.”
