I remember in the mid to late 70's buying grab bags filled with 20+ bodies for $2 or 10 chassis for $2 . We used to cut down the bodies to lighten the cars. Also used to but the "Soup-up kits" which came with aluminum wheels, axles, Lighter body shells and stronger magnets if memory serves. i still have a pile of them still in boxes which I bought on the cheap when a store was going out of business.

Nice collection.. I used to have a lot of the same cars that you have. But I sold everything back around 2000. I just got back into the hobby. I've purchased 52 cars so far!! But this new batch will never be as good as my original collection. But this new collection is sweet. I have several cars now that were made back in the day that I didn't have back then. So I do have a lot of the old cars again. I love the smell of the old T-jets!!

Brings back plenty of memories of racing my AFX cars. I had tons or different rubber tires, motors and magnets. I would rewire the motors to make them run faster and switch out light magnets for heavier ones. Racing my AFX cars and collecting GI Joes was fun during my childhood years✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼

When I lived in Japan I started collecting HO and found several of the Watsons NIB at small mom-n-pop hobby stores. This was between '98 and '01 and at that time paid the equivelent of $5 USD each for them. I sent many of them and many sets and cars that the Japanese didn't export to the U.S..

One of the great things about this product is the amount of bonding that occurred as fathers, sons, brothers and even daughters participated in connecting the track, building the raceway, and racing the cars. I remember my cousins got a track with 4 cars inside. Since there were 3 of them, I got the 4th car. We raced for hours as this one item brought and kept us all together engrossed in prepping, maintaining, and running our vehicles to their limit. It was also one of those things that one kept forever. Until Hurricane Katrina hit, I had a great collection of cars. Not nearly as many as this guy but I think it was around 32 at its highest. I was fortunate to save some of them. For some odd reason, I was in the attic, saw a small case I use to use to house some of my collection, and brought them down with me. Although it was only a dozen, I am so thankful I have them. I am almost 50 so my collection would reflect the same types seen in this video. I do have a couple I don't see here. Unfortunately I saw way to many that I once had but no longer have any longer. I don't care what anyone says, we had some of the best toys growing up. Granted this generation has amazing video games, but actual hands on toys, there is no comparison. I also still have my Star Wars and Micronauts collections. The latter is very limited. I have maybe 10, but I have over 50 stormtroopers Long with just about every other character and figure. I did lose the space ships and Death Star except for Solo's Millennium Falcon. Interested in hearing other peoples favorites during that era, thanks.
