On top of wear and tear to rails, the power requirement is phenomenal. It will need it's own custom built nuclear powered vessel.

There is NO logical reason for the decision makers up In DC to phase out the A10 Warthog if has proven itself war worthy but not only by its pilots but from the infantry men themselves! I can only conclude that the reason our Government is hard up to spend more money we don’t have is to simply get a bigger kick back from those companies who get awarded the contracts!

SR-72 isn't real. There just isn't any need for such a plane. Satellites and drones cover the vast majority of the surface of the earth and there is no lapse in coverage. The resolution of the newest satellites is better than 10 centimeters, good enough to identify any kind of major piece of miliary equipment. The military just does not need this kind of craft.

BALONEY!!! "New F-15EX Eagle...has Russia and China Terrified..." How do you know that? What is your source of information. Have you somehow communicated with the Russians and the Chinese? Have they actually stated that they are "Terrified?" It is one thing to state that these new developments are an upgrade to the F-15, which is an old aircraft. But it is wrong to state that other nations are "terrified" without citations and actual proof. In fact, they are probably not bothered at all.

Well actually the successor to the 71 is not an Air Force plane, it’s flown by the NRO (National Reconnaissance Office). It gets airborne refueling support from specialized Air Force tankers, but the missions are performed and the data collected are controlled by the NRO.

SR-72 is a marvel with chimera engines that propel it between 2.5 and 3.5 mach at extreme altitudes ... but what is the platform frame composition - improved alloy formulations? A toast to Skunk Works!
