This was the BEST tutorial I’ve seen, for cleaning this awesome vacuum cleaner! Thanks so much. My vacuum went from a stinky, dusty mess, back to its “almost” new condition. Great job on this tutorial. :) Thanks so much. ☺️

I take mine out once in a while to remind me how foolish I was to buy this. Warm mist forced out with a "whoosh" is not steam. This thing does nothing a spray bottle and paper towels can't do.

Does it leak at all? Steam cleaners sometimes have this problem. Do you have any advice on what to do if this happens?

Are these better than microfiber cloths for cleaning surfaces? Like countertops, steel, and glass? I currently use microfiber cloths but they don't absorb super well, better than a paper towel but they also take a long time to dry.

Does not clean. I still had to get down on hands and knees to really clean. And I asked multiple times to ask if it cleans carpet. The sales person assured me each time. In fact he put me on hold to "ask the supervisor. So sorry I bought the machine. I cannot even return it.

Thank you for sharing this! I always loved the look of the Heritage 84! I have the Heritage 2 Legend made in 1988. I also have a model 517 from 1957. Both vacuums work amazingly well for their age. Better than any new vacuum I've used. I also have been collecting some of the weird attatchments. I love how one Kirby can do any household chore you can think of! They're amazing! Take good care of that Kirby and maybe polish it up with a little Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish. It will look like new!

Thank you so much! Folks that very likely have a shop vac if you own that, use the brush attachment and switch to blower mode for the rest outside.... It'll turn this into 5 minutes messless affair instead (This video is cut down).

Well...Many people criticize vacuum cleaners with a water filter, but in the end you still wash any vacuum cleaner with water to give it a good clean. but when you wash the canister of a vacuum cleaner with a water filter, you are not breathing dust.

Hey there! Awesome clean! Nice little extra cleaning tip I found out yesterday! Where the rollers hook to the thing in the middle, you can take the prongs off either side with a torq or hex screwdriver, nice little hiding place I found a bit of wrapped up fluff and hair. Also in the same wave, the rollers themselves, the black side of the rollers, you can take off and clean the plastic caps and around the roller inside (Don't take the grease off of the bearings though) hiding places everywhere! I was shocked how much had managed to get into those hidden places. :) x

Remove the "pins" that the rollers connect to. T10 Hex heads, there are bearing behind there and they cake with hair and dirt.

Hi, how good/effective is the Multi-Surface Brush Roll for dry-vacuuming rugs such the white rug of yours ( medium to high pile rug)? Is it better than ordinary vacuums?

we had this exact model growing up! wish we still had it. I remember all the attachments came in a cardboard briefcase type of deal with the pamphlet and I remember the haircutting flowby image haha. I think a salesman demonstrated all the features to my parents and they bought it. Thanks for the video, so nostalgic
