Canadas wonderland now has two launch coasters backlot stunt coaster and snoppys racing railway
I haven't been to Canada's Wonderland in years, I think maybe the late 90's or early 2000's? I think it was still Paramount's Canada's Wonderland at the time anyway. I've never been a huge theme park person. I went to Disneyworld around 2016, but other than that, nothing. I have been sort of interested ever since that Yukon ride was announced, but yikes, ~1 hour long wait times, which basically make fast pass a necessity lest one only gets to go on a handful of rides? I don't think even Disneyworld was quite that bad, or at least the rides we went on there had wait times more like 30 to 45 minutes (which was bad enough). I don't remember Canada's Wonderland being nearly that much of a slog when I went to it as a kid.... If I ever go, I'll definitely have to pony up for a Fastpass+, because there is no way I'd want to spend the vast majority of my time there waiting to get on rides.
Thanks great info great vid
Hey everyone. After noticing the negative feedback to the montage segments in this video since it spiked in popularity last month, I was planning to remove them, however KZread doesn't allow videos with over 100,000 views to be trimmed or have sections muted. I apologize for how those segments turned out, especially with the audio mixing. It sounded nowhere near as bad when I was editing it, and I only realized how bad it was a few days after the video was uploaded. I have more videos planned in this sort of style for the future, and I'll refrain from including more montages in them, unless it's a video specifically built around them. I'm really sorry for the audio in those segments, and I have included a warning info bubble at the beginning of the video now (should've done like 2 years ago).
HERES A GREAT IDEA!!?!?!?!?!?! REGULATE THE TALKING VOLUME AND THE MUSIC BREAKS!!!!!! SO PEOPLE DON"T BLOW OUT THEIR FUKKIN SPEAKERS!!!!!!!!!
In the 1980s they used to let you tour behind the waterfall. It was great. Then someone had to ruin it. I now hate Canada's Wonderland. So much walking and expensive.
Gino hill
Tomb raider/ time warp is SO GOOD THOUGH. YOU MADE IT SOUND LIKE ITS BAD BUT ITS GREAT I SWEAR😂😂😂😂
BROTHGER. TURN THE MUSIC DOWN.
The crotch pain from sky rider was legendary.
Thank you! I really enjoyed this. It did make me a little sad, though. I miss some of those defunct rides. Zumba Flume & SkyRider were two of my favourites. Before they announced the closure of the latter, we would stay on for several rides in a row. We were some of the last people to ride it when it closed.
the music during the coaster montages is so bad
brah youve gotta turn that music down lmao
Hey now flight deck is a classic
Very nice summary of the history of Canada's wonderland. It would be great if you could add to this video, maybe not every year, but every 5 years as some significant moves should be happening in between
I am a proud civilian of Ontario, and as this park doesn't get as much love on KZread, I was happy to see it in an hour long documentary. I went here in 2022, I think it was 2022.
Homeboy forgot about day of thunder....shame
The Paramount era pretty good in the beginning. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, parks like Disney’s MGM Studios and Universal Studios Orlando opened and everyone was really into behind the scenes movie magic. I was around MGM within a couple weeks of opening. When Paramount came in, we started to see a transition to that vibe, with rides like Top Gun (which was smooth and beautiful, unlike the Drachen Fyre and Mindbuster) and Days of Thunder. There was actual theming and world-building in the ride queues. There was also a big Star Trek exhibition, and there were Klingons roaming the park, ready to insult your lack of honour. It was fun. Felt like it was going somewhere, but I guess not. Top Gun being a roller coaster made sense…it was supposed to be the sensation of flying a jet. Tomb Raider though….uh…
It’s been years since I rode it, but I’m pretty sure the second lap of Thunder Run is faster and reveals the dragon in the mountain.
As someone who has been going since 1997, thank you for this.
I remember my dad taking me to paramount Canada’s Wonderland in the middle 90s . Amazing memories thank you for posting this video
i wasnt born until 1993
there is a dragon in the mountain as well
now idea how i found this channel but hello from Cobourg ontario Canada,, liked and subbed
its been easily 20 years snce i was last at Canada;s wonder land , the movie School of Rock was in theaters. bc and friend of mine and i went to the school of Rock live show at wonderland
One time in the early 2000s we only rode rollercoasters the whole time. I ended up with a concussion. The next day at work I was literally walking into walls because I couldn't see straight, lol
Growing up in the 80s & 90s I loved Smurf Village/Gargamel's Castle, Scooby Ville & Bedrock!
Fun fact, my great uncle Jack Israeli owned wonderland for some time, he also built a lot of the gta in Ontario, such as residential homes, malls, etc, there is a book about it believe it or not! I’m not watching this whole video but it would of been cool if u mentioned him, but you probably would have had no idea
You should do the history of Montreal first parc Belmont Park
If anyone remembers Pharoah falls, my dad's favorite story to tell is how he shot off the end of it and landed infront of the atlas statue. Also the time my uncle freaked out at the top of the drop zone when the click happened
Yeah, the leviathan is incredibly noisy the park wasn't exactly quiet before but that was honestly a bit much for me.
Nothing will ever make up for them changing hannah barbara land. Anger
Fun video! Looks the same as when I went in 2015 lol
you forgot smurf village. that was the best soft serve ice cream ever.
No mention of Halloween Haunt? That was my favourite thing as a teen.
I love the video, but the obnoxious music playing every 2m makes it borderline unwatchable:(
This was awesome. Spent a lot of my childhood here.
I hear Flight Deck and the other one beside it Time Warp to be removed and something else to come maybe in 2025?
10/10 Ending
Wow I did not know any of this stuff what a great video! Also I'm so sorry you didn't get to see paramount wonderland. It was great when I was little. I look forward to exploring the modern wonderland with my son in the next few years.
Going here was magical as a kid. Even the overpriced funnel cakes were great then.
grew up a 45 minute drive from CW... had season's passes the last 4 years we lived there and would save to have money for the bus that went there (stopped at the end of my street). I still love CW even if my home park is now Cedar Point... always been and always will be a great park.
as per vortex. this opened after I moved to Windsor so I didn't even get to ride it until it was 2-3 years old. cedar point being my home park of course I got to ride Iron dragon, but yeah when I got to ride Vortex for the first time it was instantly my favorite hanging coaster. Only 2 that I truly wish I got on, Eagle Flight, and the original Big Bad Wolf.
Honestly , I would love to be able to go to wonderland ! I live really close to it and I haven’t been in so so long. I wish I could go. But I can’t. Really , no body can. It’s been taken over by foreigners. It’s not a fun day when you’re around that many smelly people. I miss this place I really do. I hope this problem can be fixed soon !
Boy what the hell boy
Good video but the the quick cuts during Yukon striker were not needed
these commercials are appreciated, thankful over here for the blast from the past,,, I wish we could turn back time
Oh, & I want to add: I liked Smurff Village, they took it out in 1991..to make room for Play Place/Nicolden. Something for the younger kids. It had SpongeBob, Rugrats & Blues Clues..ect. I wish they'd bring back the old logo. And, back then..they didn't have a water park..💦
I miss the old logo with the iconic Mountains & Rainbow..in the80's & in eraly summer..you go to McDonald's & get a combo meal with a plastic collector cup with a Canada's Wonderland theme (usually with the Smurff's, Flintstones or Jetsons) 🍁
Its a multicultural shithole now.
I love Snoopy and the Peanuts but I still really think that kids' area was the biggest loss from the Paramount era. Going from having Scooby-Doo, Rugrats, Dora, Jimmy Neutron, Jetsons, and Flintstones rides to awkwardly retheming everything to Snoopy just feels like something is missing. Not to mention the fact that the Ghoster Coaster and (poorly renamed imo) Boo Blasters on Boo Hill don't make any thematic sense in the Snoopy area. It's too bad. Imo the best year of the park was 2008 when it was still transitioning from the Paramount park. Behemoth was built and the paramount rides were renamed, but the kids area hadn't changed yet and they still had the fire effects for the stunt coaster. I can't lie though, Yukon Striker is by far the best coaster the park has ever had and is THE most smooth rollercoaster I've ridden. Haven't been to a ton of places in the US though.
Wow watching all these old commercials sure brings back memories.
Top Gun, with the music! great warm up coaster. Not sure what its called anymore
ok so...i should have commented at the end lol
