    Nice rig and the tent looks great on there. Quick question for you- how far apart are the rails on the bottom of the tent that the bolts are threaded into? I have CBI overland bars, that are 3.25" thick, so im curious if the plates would work for that as well?

  • @THFOffroad
    @THFOffroad2 ай бұрын

    The rails on the bottom of the tent are 27 1/2” center to center of each other. 3 1/4” is the biggest the hardware will work with. That’s the thickness of mine as well.

    @@THFOffroad thanks for the quick reply. This is probably the route I'll go then since your cross bars are the same thickness and without issues. Thanks again!

    Using power tools is not recommended. The bolts and Nylok nuts are stainless and can seize up if you use power tools. If you have a nut seize or you strip out the load spreader slider plate you will have to cut the bolt off. Hand tools only!!! Also remember to check the mounting nuts and bolts frequently during trips. Don't forget to check the nuts and bolts if you leave the tent on year round. Check them when you change your oil if not sooner. Adjust the ladder from top down not bottom to top.

    When they get tight they pretty much stop turning. that’s when it’s done. They are pretty common to break, so common that I work at a ford dealership and we even carry extra ones because when these come in for oil changes they can break while trying to take them off if the last guy put them too tight. They make replacement metal ones that won’t break

  • @ajanon476
    @ajanon4763 ай бұрын

    Doorman makes the already mentioned metal housing. Jaimee's Sienna had the plastic housing when we bought it, first oil change it broke on us due to overtorquing, very common.
