Phatz Kitchen

Phatz Kitchen

I had two reasons for creating this channel. First and foremost for my two children who love my food but are still too young to realise that they need to learn to cook from mama. This channel will be accessible to them no matter where they go in the world and is far better than a recipe book. Secondly, I wanted to present popular Portuguese recipes in English.

Morning dear. I know this is an old video, but I'm selling toffee apples tomorrow. Do your mom only wipe the apples of? So there's no need to wash apples in hot boiling water? Like other videos shows? Give advice pls

I love toffee apples! 😊Our Mother used to make them, then when they were set, she"d cut them off the core & pop them into a cup for us! Great hint about the granny smith! I've had the bubbles & that makes perfect sense.

This is how I remember toffie apples we bought at a shop in vdbp. The lady looked like the lady in the video. Was just wondering. She always made lollies from the left over syrup. That was the best❤

Why do yoú call them TOFFEE APPLE, they look like regular candy apples. What's cream of tar tar for? Also you didn't use Karo syrup.

I just tried this recipe today. I was always intimidated by toffee 🍎, seemed so difficult. I hit it right first time, extremely high gloss and perfect hardness.

I'm from South Africa n this is the recipe I use for years I sold them at schools in 1988 n my kids were young at that time n they went door to door selling it for only R2.00 brought lots of memories I started selling them again in 2023 using the same recipes boy what a good seller n the toffee is glossy crunchy n tasty but the only thing you have to eat on the same day it doesn't last more than a day the toffee drips off but thank you guys I love you n I do it exactly like yours

Made these tonight to sell at a market tomorrow. They turned out beautiful and glossy. Mine have some bubbles as did not have the granny smith. Will try the granny smith next time. The toffee tasted so nice. Was so easy to make thank you for the recipe

Your apples came out with bubbles because you need to remember to remove the wax (by putting them in hot water for 10 sec and dry completely) Then let them sit on your table or counter for 24 to 48 hours. After the hours, whipe with a wet cloth and then again with a dry cloth. The holes is from wax or the sap from the apples.😊

Thank you this recipe. Your mom explained all the steps clearly. I made this recipe and could only get 6-7 small toffee apples -is this correct? . I'm from SA as well and would like to know the brand of the food colouring that was used in your recipe . 🍏

Hi. It sounds like perhaps you overdipped. You should get out more than that. Perhaps you worked slowly and the syrup cooled too much. My mom uses regular liquid food coloring that you get on the shelves in supermarkets
