I'm the one who tabbed HAMMER on Ultimate Guitar. Years ago there was a challenge on UG where the most tabs you publish they give you points and you could have won a guitar if you made the most amount of point. Sadly I only got 2nd and won a tshirt, but thanks to that challenge and my fanatism for Huey Lewis there's plenty of GUITAR PRO tabs of HLN there made by me. I also have all the japan band scores and all the pvg they made (fore, small world, hard at play, the songbook with most of the first 3 albums songs), even though sometimes those books are wrong as hell... BTW for the tabs you are right, the guitar does power chords in the studio version, simply I wasn't able to catch it back in the day cause there were no ia to isolate the tracks, so I just assumed the guitar was doing the chords like the piano which plays a bsus4 and asus2. I should check back on all the tabs and correct them xD

Nice. What is the pedal you're using to get that sound after the intro?

That's a lot of guitar for the money. I'd put that against a Fender Player or even a Fender American anyday. I don't even look at Gibsons so cannot fairly compare.

Nice. I like that you explained how to get the sound too. But there are things that I hear different in the original. The most important one is that they keep doing the palm muted b-f# also in the chorus.

Ho lee carrrapp! Yes, I know this video is two years old. I just saw it now, and I can’t go back in time. But if I could, I would say that this breakdown Is EXACTLY the one I needed to learn this incredibly unique and creative display of guitar virtuosity that only Elliot Easton would come up with (Warning: run-on sentence alert). Put on virtually any Cars song and listen to the guitar composition that Elliot contributes. Genius. Thanks for your video that allowed me to learn this song in the format that connected with me.

So it capture a specific setup of the amp? Meaning that you can’t simulate, for exemple, how the amp will respond to volume (valve saturation) or ad and reduce the gain in the profile?
@desisernaguitarАй бұрын
Correct, but you do have limited control of those parameters. However, they’ve now introduced something called liquid profiles that give you more of the control you get from a modeler. You can also add stomps such as boost and overdrive to increase the saturation of your sound.
