Hello Max. It's scary how many fires there are on the west coast and how much they threaten life in that area. We are now fighting five big fires on the coast, and we are a small country. 90% are caused by people. What could be in someone's head to intentionally set fire and endanger numerous lives. Take care and have a nice weekend.

Thanks my friends. It has been a terrible year for fires. Been hot, dry, little rain and careless people. Still only small fires near me and all are out or under control. Stay safe my friends.

A couple of the areas we visited this summer are now on fire. I was using OnX to check for wildfires at the time, but nothing major had started yet. Good to know the official site to check.

We have a lot of Forest Fires in British Columbia. To date it is over 7 million acres. Mother Nature is the main cause here with humans causing a heck of a lot too. We get a lot of lightning strikes here that are a major problem. People need to be more careful though and not add to what Mother Nature already does! It' a good idea to check where the fires are so that you know where you can travel and not travel. We have major roads that are closed here because of the fires.

We observed the Pioneer fire on Lake Chelan, WA while taking the ferry from Chelan to Stehekin and back. On the way back, the captain took us right up to one of the fires that was really blazing. It was burning right down to the lake. I used the link you provided to identify the name. Will be on an upcoming post.

All of these wildfires are so sad. It seems to get worse every year. It never used to be this bad when I (Rachel) was growing up. We have another trip we are going to take in a few weeks, but we haven't officially planned it yet because of this very reason. We're keeping an eye on the fires and smoke. Prayers to all in the path of these fires. 🙏🏻
