Fantastic ..
Great video!
Amazing ! I know how hard and dangerous to climb Mt. Aspiring . Well done ^^
500g of cheese and a box of crackers sounds like two days worth of lunches for me. 😆😄
It is said that anything after the first ascent really doesn’t matter. But this ascent of Changabang by you three will likely be the forever exception to this. Beyond the sheer will and guts it took to make that climb, the bond and unmeasurable love you all share with each other and the mountains shines almost as bright as the mountain itself. The video is incredible, and I am thankful to have seen it. I hope you three have continued climbing together, as it’s rare to find mates like this. Cheers.
Congratulations and that was an excellent short film
Congratulations on their accomplishment, and better them than me. That looked like sheer misery.
An epic experience, solid friendships, absolutely wonderful. Thanks for sharing your dreams and adventure
On the Yosemite Decimal System
12c for the overall route , mostly 12a-b for the majority of the pitches
What grade is that?
Waiting for a new documentary
totally impressed 👍
Great advice, thank you.
great vid, cheers!
Thank you for sharing, excellent video!
Súper humanos !
Formidable 💪
Extraordinario, todo mi respeto para estos montañistas 🙌
Amazing achievement guys…bravo a thousand times. Life moments of adversity and pride. You made it! 👍🏼👏🏻
this is so hardcore! you couldn't have found a better weather window as well. Amazing!
Good to see Chris Bonnington looking chipper ,
Thank you for sharing such incredible content and stories.
5 degree bag, shit that's keen man. Fluoride is nasty stuff, the "Do Not Swallow" warnings appear on all toothpastes that contain fluoride and for good reasons. I use Dr. Bronners or make my own with diatomaceous earth, olive oil and pure peppermint essential oil contained in a small 35ml Sistema dressing tub. Good presentation though, well thought out systems👍 The compostable ziplock bags are a good idea.
The amount of sodium flouride toothpaste an adult male would need to consume to poison himself is something like two to three tubes in an hour.....and even that is easily reversible for many hours. The "do not swallow" warning is a much bigger deal with children and important for adults massing fewer than 50kg. Using the dried tabs Alastair chose is perfectly safe and reasonable. (Hydroflouric acid on the other hand is dangerous stuff. You won't feel the "burn" and it will kill you anyway. One should also avoid swallowing too much diatomaceous earth, it can really tear you up.)
So beautiful 😍
Congrats guys. I have read both Pete and Joe's books, brutal is right. Can't wait to get back to the Himalayas, but I think I'll just stick to trekking peaks.
I'm scared of heights. I can't climb a ladder to a gutter on a house. But I love these videos. It made me sick just looking at it. Well done.
There is a Mexican team that reached the summit of Changabang on October 13, 2006, that would be the 2nd ascent to its summit, unfortunately they died on the descent. Great job and congratulations on your climbing and your video, it would be good if this information was added to your video.
Superb video, supreme effort. Something about the surroundings of Changabang make it something else, truly another world. Great to see Sir Chris, and excellent documentation of Joe and Pete's effort.
Well done, you guys and thanks for sharing. Such an achievement time wise. Walked into Aspiring Hut in September 2023, reliving an early 1970s walk from Glenorchy via the Dart Rees Matukituki rivers to the old Aspiring Hut and up to Colin Todd Hut unreadiness for an ascent. Fascinating to see the lie of the land these days, especially with so little snow and ice.
Amazing stuff, I envy your skill and the fact that it enabled you to experience such a mountain, such a route and be a part of climbing history, on the footsteps of giants.
The scene is Magnificent ❤
Now that’s a proper adventure 👏🏼
🙌
So enjoyed this vid and the fact that your team summited. Always fascinated by returned servicemen climbers from WW1 who took to alpine climbing with relish, presumably wanting a 'peak experience' that didn't involve mass carnage on the battlefront, George Mallory included. Who knows what demons they were battling, let alone war injuries, and whether dicing with death lured them on.
TRIPLE LIKE.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! 🔥🔥🔥
to see Chris Bonnington introduce this climb had me thinking of all the friends he has lost in the mountains, some of the very best climbers in the world... thank you for this piece of history, well done mates!
Amazing. What an acheivement!
Wonderful film and story. I really appreciated the respect you showed for Pete Boardman and Joe Tasker. Great mountaineers and great writers. I would recommend their books to anyone as not only fine climbing literature, but fine literature period. Congrats on your ascent.
Salute
Pete and Joe was such a strong willed partnership, even Dougal Haston and Doug Scott, thought the West Wall was too steep!
Inspiring
Superb climbing! Watching this motivates me to train and climb as well as possible so I can make the most of a visit back to NZ next year for some old stomping ground, plus it's helping me get through the Vermont winter! Well done all round.
Well done guys, cassin route?
Rode my push bike up it,
That was such an amazing film. Views were spectacular and what a great team of friends.
Amazing film. WOW ! We were fortunate to be providing complete travel arrangements for the team in India and share their success Rani Shashank -Ruck Sack Tours
Rani and her team at Rucksack are great to work with. We highly recommend them!
Wow!
Thank you!
Joe tasker and Pete Boardman were definitely the ones I looked up to .
