    Yiieeeeewww!! Always a great day when I see a new Wet Mammal video pop up in the feed. The seal footage was absolutely gorgeous, such beautiful creatures, we're so lucky to be sharing the waters with them. It's been so cold recently that I havent been out for a dive in aaaagggeess but this vid has sparked some diving motivation within me. Thanks so much as always love the video mate!

    The most venomous snake is the Dubois Sea Snake. I'm glad you survived the Banded Sea Krait. That's horrifying.

    Just to add - seal bites are notoriously bad for infection so any bite that breaks the skin needs to be medically treated asap at a hospital followed by some pretty strong antibiotics. Look up “seal finger” for further info

    Loved the seals. Around Dunedin we have lots of swimming with seals and the occasional sea lion. Only had one seal and one sea lion being pesky over the 20 odd years of diving here. Many of us use float boats to keep our catch out of harms way

    what do you mean about the white arching its fins?

  • @WetMammal
    @WetMammal2 сағат бұрын

    When the shark points its fins downwards it allows them to move a lot quicker for changing direction typical a sign that they are getting ready for an attack

    Props for not panicking when the shark was between you and your boat. Looks like she is well fed on seals and fish and knows you’re not on the menu. However, I would of been on the boat given the first opportunity. No point in playing on the tracks when you know the freight train is approaching.

    She was doing the classic sizing you up and swimming around you whilst getting slowly closer to you , that is predatory behaviour. All sharks are ambush and opportunistic predators . She would not go for an attack unless you were unaware of her and she could attack without being noticed or if she thought you were close enough for a chance . I guarantee if you would have stayed long in the water her behaviour would have gotten more threatening.
