    i wanted to continue the thought.... try not to ollie by "picking up your legs" <-----if you do this, you will never be able to ollie higher. you need to crouch in order to jump. try jumping while standing up straight. you can't. all you can do is lift your feet up to somewhere below your hips if you're even that flexible! so for better ollies... always crouch for stability and ability to jump and always land crouched for a lower center of gravity to "flow" with the landing and lessen the impact if you fall. free tip #2 never learn tricks in a sidewalk crack or while stationary! if you're moving, even slowly, while learning a trick... you'll at least know where your body weight is going. if you're standing still and land primo on a kickflip.... you have much less of an idea about where you're going to fall! good luck!

  • @nucleareggplants
    @nucleareggplants4 күн бұрын

    nice! i'm your online coach, though from now on. hehe. i want you to get better and be more safe at the same time, ok? first off, i'm a huge andy anderson fan, so there's nothing wrong about protective gear! ok... notice where your helmet is in respect to where it is when you land. your head height when you crouch to ollie is in the same place as where it is when you land. you don't need to crouch a lot to ollie a 2 stair, but when you land after the ollie... you're almost standing straight legged. that is a bad thing if anything goes wrong. "the taller they are, the harder they fall" meaning if you land in a much more crouched stance and say.... you hit a rock you didn't see... being crouched means WAY less impact if you slam. same goes for approaching the 2 stair.... if you're standing too straight up and hit a rock at the top, it's only going to be worse

    Just a question from a fellow protective gear lover, have you spent much time trying your usual tricks without the kneepads vs with? I found that it really limited my movement :/ which sucks cos I'm always hurting my knees and always wear them when bombing hills but take them off when I'm trying tech stuff at the park etc

  • @maxxthemelonhead
    @maxxthemelonhead4 күн бұрын

    Tbh I always wear my knee pads, and have learned everything in them, so I don’t have a good reference without them on. If you keep skating with them, you will eventually get used to them. Mine are def loose fitting though.

  • @maxxthemelonhead

    While they don’t feel as soft as my dragons, I will say that they feel a lot softer than my set of 97a Formula Fours, especially when it comes to the powerslides.

    Sick, bro. I came to philly for school from Arkansas and remember my parents' first visit. I also just got these wheels a couple weeks ago! Helps maintain speed on these chunky philly streets. Love to support Reynolds too of course. I want to try 97s next. 93 is too soft for me. Messes with my pop

  • @pluggold
    @pluggold7 күн бұрын

    The 97s are good but like u said if you want to ride on more rough surfaces then I think the 93s are probably better the 97 are just a lil to hard to be more for like cruising I think they are prob better for vert skating

    i think if you went for risers you wouldn't regret it. even just 1/8" you can carve so much deeper without wheelbite. but i don't have wheel wells and do have 56mm wheels

  • @maxxthemelonhead
    @maxxthemelonhead6 күн бұрын

    All of my other setups have 1/8” risers and I definitely like them, but for this setup it has still felt pretty nice without them! However, I am definitely not rocking any wheels as big as yours haha

  • @diplenski
    @diplenski6 күн бұрын

    @@maxxthemelonhead yeah i went back to 56-60mm late '90s and never looked back. also east coast crusty asphalt so i like the way they roll faster and smoother and last longer. i got a lot of gear secondhand, fb marketplace and whatnot, so i have plenty of 52-53mm. and a bunch of my 56mm are now 54mm, and i still have a bunch of low 40s from the '90s lol. more important to me that they are wide. spitfire classics are too skinny except maybe the really big ones, 56mm+. i think i'd rather the classic full, radial, or radial full, but idk i've never owned any spitfires tbh. i like wide wheels with rounded edge, so prob not a fan of the conicals
