no devilocks?
My first pub gig in Perth was Skyhooks at the Sandgroper in 1975. Over the next 10 or so years most of my night outs was watching live bands, usually 3 to 4 nights a week and the legendary Sunday sessions. I really enjoyed the smaller venues such as The City Hotel, Broadway Tavern, The Vic, The Shents, The Swanbourne Hotel, and all the others that are to numerous to mention. What a time to be growing up in Perth. Behind the cover bands was a group of musicians doing their own stuff with a very loyal following. Bands such as Visitor who became The Expression, Jim Fisher and the Outlaws (their Saturday Afternoon gig at the Vic was legendary). Moving into the 90's and I discovered The Jackals. In my opinion one of the great live and original bands to ever come out of Perth, and never get the success they deserved. Howie Johnson and Howard Shawcross, (what a rhythm section) Phil Bradley and Paul McCarthy. It brought tears to my eyes to see Paul McCarthy in this video and know he is no longer with us. He was one of the great songwriters to live in Perth. Paul's influence on Perth music can not be understated. He taught songwriting and was a founding member of Groove Magazine. I think the Perth Music Scene is still strong with a few venues still supporting live music. Great bands are still coming out of Perth and Fremantle. Long Live Live Music
Great stuff!
07/03/2024@1:35--- Ian, we just now translated what you are saying' about roger g. in the intro here. roger g. is doin' that thing again, still with the amp, among other things---
so glad this featues the Seal and the Beam; `- they were such fun - really great, fantastic crowds & The Cottesloe Hotel. 🥰
Yep spent a lot of time, and had a lot of fun in the big pubs of suburban Perth in the 80s. The Raffles, The Herdsman, The Nookenbar (Innaloo), The Morley Generator; the White Sands etc. = The Riffs, The Frames, The Jets & V-Capri. Etc. Great bands, great music - great fun - loud and fantastic - & sometimes a bit crazy & wild.
I’ve never been to Oz, and had never heard of any of these bands, but I thoroughly enjoyed this whole documentary! Beautifully done. I wish there was a part two!
We wish it never ended - but, as the doco said everything changed and that scene is no longer, there are still some great rock & pop bands in Perth, but, not the huge band rooms like the old days that held 800 - 1000 fully charged hardcore rockin fans __ some of Australia's best bands are from Perth (* Fremantle), or started in Perth.
It was a great time and I'm proud to have been a part of it!
Such a brilliant time for music in Perth, We will never see this powerful time happen again.

Wow! Best live stargazer I ever heard
Hey dudes thanks ^ bertogully7
He can keep a beat, but that was not a "solo to remember"
It wasn't meant to be a solo..
It wasn't supposed to be a solo
It's not a drum solo, did you not hear or see David accompanying on keys?
Today, we celebrate Deep Purple on their 50th anniversary of the Machine Head album, released on the 29th of March 1972. This version is the first time that any of us guys have played Highway Star.

Meh.....!
Hi. I used to share a house with Brett Hoffman. I followed Party cones religiously. Wondered who's still around Andy Grammy Brett ? If your Sam did you end up with Nicky? I was a friend of Max and Pat from over east. Any news would be appreciated thanks.
It’s like having seats in hell. Lol. Cool audio though! Thanks
Yeah man. Blackmore is killing it!
I’ll never forget putting this album on the turntable. BLOWN AWAY

You re right.also 56.greez fom hamburg deutschland
This was my hook!! Ronnie/Ritchie and the rest of RAINBOW sent this 59 year old metalhead on an endless journey trying to find my FAVORITE metal band. Rainbow? Dio? Metallica? Pantera? Iron Maiden? Slayer? So many unanswered questions. So much money spent on albums, 8 tracks, CD's, concert tickets, liquor haha. Now I find myself kicking back watching a 1970s video of Rainbows Stargazer. Goosebumps and pulse rate rising as I recall.
My first Rainbow concert. I still have the questions but wouldn't change the memories for anything in the world!!! RIP Ronnie James Dio🤘🌈
Saw many good bands there in the '80s, good no hassle venue. If i knew the Reporters were this good i wouldve checked them out too! Followed Trilogy here and elsewhere.
