I'm pretty sure most Christians have at least 2 or 3 bibles I used to have 7 but the spines started to fall apart so I gave them to my mom who doesn't go to church super often so you don't have to worry about the Bible falling apart away from home

NIV is a great translation for beginners as well as NLT. Get Warren Wiersbe OT and NT bible commentary, it's so interesting itself to read alone. If you are a beginner bible commentery is VERY important. John McArther NKJV one year bible is also a great choice. Also remember, a pretty bible should be your last concern, a bible you read should be your first.:)

when people first become a Christian, I tell them that the best translations to start with are the NLT and/or the NIV. The translators try to make them easy to read. The ESV is more literal translation and is great for those who have studied the bible for a while. I'm glad that you went from atheism to believing in Christ. My brother is an atheist but I don't push him. He comes to me with questions about the bible. He believes that bible is true but he doesn't want to believe in God. I love my brother and hope that one day he will come to Christ.

Just because it's easy to read doesn't mean it's the right translation. KJV is the only correct translation and is the only one that kept the beauty of God's word.

As someone with social anxiety, going out on the street to preach the gospel seems super exhilarating and exciting. Not a lot of people would have that courage. And getting into discussions about God with people who have a differing view is probably an exciting experience.

These days I'm feeling incredibly bored about everything: praying, fasting, playing video games, etc... I try to talk with God sometimes, but I don't hear Him. If I could hear Him clearly and have conversations with Him, I would PROBABLY be less bored.

Firstly, I want to start off with saying your video is wonderful and informative for those beginning their religious/spiritual journey. Wonderfully done, and keep it up! As for markers, I use regular pencil crayons (a.k.a. coloured pencils) to mark my Bible, it's affordable, last nearly forever, and never ever bleeds through the insanely thin pages. You can use them to highlight verses or words by shading the whole section or just underlining, each carrying a different meaning. Now to my main point, I have read many different versions of the Bible (KJV, KJV 1611, NIV, ESV, NASB, Interlinear Bible, and the Geneva Bible) and have found the KJV to be the best to learn and study from because it is closest to the original text while somewhat close the modern English. Something to remember is that both God and Jesus speak in parables, which is why being close the original is better as it preserves the original meaning and context of the scriptures and is open to your personal interpretation and not from someone else perspective. Each time someone grows their perspective changes and with that also the meaning of certain verses, thus further increasing your personal spiritual growth. Note: Just like in school you always want to learn from source documents not someone else's opinion/interpretation. This will always give you truth.

  • @RachelLWolfe

I agree 100%. My very first Bible was a KJV, but it was a children's Bible. My parents got it for me when I was very young. When I was in my teens I bought a NIV Women's Study Bible, and then about ten years ago I bought a NKJV, after realizing that the NIV has entire scriptures missing. Intentionally. It wasn't a printing error. I've used that NKJV a LOT, so it's showing some wear, and I've had to repair the spine once already so I've bought a few more since then, and have gravitated back towards the KJV. As a side note, I recently got some seriously old KJV Bibles at an estate sale. They are in fair condition, and one has notes in the margins from the original owner. It is really neat to see how older Bibles were made, and how they compare to what is being made today.

As for me, I will not tolerate anyone using my Saviours name as a curse word 😢😢😢 Why is it we have to conform to the worldly ways in order to FIT IN? WE ,as Christians are to set an example. Can you imagine what it is going to be like on judgement day 🥵🫣Always ask in every situation, “What would Jesus Do “

I absolutely loved this video! Thank you for sharing! The Daily Grace Co. has this SUPER cool book called The Theology Handbook, and on page 94 there is an awesome chart about the translations. I used to use NIV and NKJV pretty much my whole life growing up and even into adulthood, but now that I'm nearing 40, I have been super interested in other translations. I have recently fallen in love with the NLT; it's so easy to read and just lovely to enjoy and understand. This video really reassured me about something, too! My husband and I just chose a bible for his mother for Mother's Day, and we happened to choose the Thrive Bible. I am SO glad to hear an opinion on it and I am now very excited for her to receive it! Awesome content, I'm subscribing!
