One major cause of the war was DECOLONIZATION. For some historians this cause was a major factor in the second half of the twentieth century in world history. The French government did acknowledge that Vietnam, or Tonkin could have some autonomy, but it was unwilling for this to be done in Annam or Cochin. He was practicing the policy of divide and rule. Further d'Argenlieu was unwilling to accept the conciliatory policies that emanated from Paris, LeClerc or others that noted the French position in Vietnam was weak. Though the French communist leader publicly stated he was not willing to give up the empire. The period 1949-50 in a larger context is underplayed. Mao winning China, and the Korean war focused the US on its commitment to stopping the spread of communism. Also, that Giap's military reforms were based on Mao's ideas on how to develop a guerilla force into a conventional one over the course of a war. The French sought a battle at Dien Bien Phu. The French military thought the Viet Minh would be easily defeated if they attacked the base. The losses for the French were less than the losses from the RC4 disaster, but the psychological effects were deeper. The losses at Dien Bien Phu were from the best units the French had in Indochina. As to the US by 1954 nearly 80% of French costs were being paid in money and equipment by the US. When in 1954 the French began to negotiate decolonisation the US wanted them to fight on. Complete reversal of the attitudes shown in 1945.

Свободному человеку , не нужен " паспорт " - аусвайс , на своей земле . Были документы , свидетельства о рождении - военный билет - справка на жилплощадь , это достаточно документации , для подтверждение личности и гражданина страны .
