donotsettle

We are 2 architects/ designers/ urban enthusiast that are attempting to change the way we see the city. Both originating from a totally different background (Indonesia and Belgium), this unique multicultural ensemble results in an original fresh set of eyes in which the city and its architecture are seen. The results is a visual archive capturing the moment before the change, because change is inevitable. The creation of identity, the search for recognition, the dynamics of a megacity and the human perception of all of this are topics covered in this extensive research. Keep moving, and #donotsettle

The trend for Starbuck’s here in the US these days are drive-thru locations. The town I live in originally had indoor locations that were put in shopping centers. Most of these shopping centers indoor locations had closed and were relocated to newly built stand-alone stores with inside dining, outdoor patio seating area and drive-thru. I am not a coffee drinker so I only go to Starbuck’s with friends who are coffee-holics. The whole coffee scene is so pretentious, and Starbuck’s is a total ripoff and a member of the evil empire out to destroy the world up there with Disney, Apple, Walmart, Facebook, Google, etc.

I think those decorations cover up holes originally designed for coat hangers. Somehow they decided that that was no longer necessary...

To get from one end of the country to the other - let's compare - - - - From Flensburg (on the Danish border) to Schöna (on the Czech border) requires up to 12 hours travelling and up to 6 changes!!!!!! In Holland, to get from Groningen (right up north) to Maastricht (right down south on the Belgian border) requires about 4 hours, and just one change (usually at Utrecht). So you can see that the differences are so great that it obviously must determine the type of trains you will encounter AND the on-board services you'll get.

  • @JohnTaylor-bf6ll

Yes, it's all to do with distance, as your other viewers have already pointed out. The average distance and the average amount of time you spend on a Dutch train, is just a "local journey" compared to the equivalent in Germany.

Is it best to get a nap in a 3-5 hour layover? Should I ask the airport employees what I can do during a layover?

Food at airports is super expensive. So, I can't eat eat eat eat... all the while. And, how do we sleep at airports that don't have resting rooms? I feel ashamed to sleep on chairs. People look at me..... and I don't like it. Airports transits are the worst frankly.😔

  • @sayfridge

In my case I've ate at the city where it's alot cheaper than in the airport than explored the city under 14 hours and got back to the airport 4 hours before the flight it was not bad for me

@@sayfridge to get out of the airport in a different country, one would need transit visas. If they have it, fine. If they don't, ... well, God bless them. 😂😂😅

Underrated video! Also another factor on why the design of IKEA is genius is the location itself, being far away from populated areas/cities makes you don’t wanna waste the trip on just buying 1 item (in this case pillows). So it makes us think “might as well get this while i’m here” which is where some of the impulsive purchases come from. Source is from another video talking about the genius of IKEA but i forgot what it’s called. :’)
