I personally think divination (7 wonders) and the mediumship that Billie Dean has been innately born with are 2 very different supernatural abilities. One can be learnt (well can be practiced by witches), whilst the other is a 6th sense, being able to communicate with ghosts and sense ghostly energy. But then, Nan could communicate with her dead bf in the hospital, aaah, idk 😅😂

The character Sarah is playing in these scenes (Billy Dean Howard) isn’t and was never a witch. She is a medium and can commune with spirits. You are thinking of Sarah’s Coven/Apocalypse character Cordelia who was the Supreme head witch.

Billie Dean Howard is one of my favorite AHS characters by Sarah Paulson. She's a beautiful, wonderful character in every way. Why she's not as loved as Sarah Paulson's other characters is a mystery to me. I love her as much as I love Lana Winters and Cordelia Goode. ❤️❤️❤️

10:18 well isn’t that just a big ol plot whole. has nothing to do with Billie lmao but richard did get married in prison in 94, while in season 9, he’s been stuck at camp redwood since 89 making that literally impossible.

Except he's not a spirit in S9, he's still alive but every time he dies, Satan resurrects him. However, on the issue of him being stuck there, I would presume that he eventually escapes Camp Redwood at some point and actually dies in '94. Though this theory would fall into a continuity error. However, my favorite theory of mine, is that he may actually not be a spirit in Hotel. The camp might be capable of holding residents who have also been resurrected, if they at least died on the property. I don't see any reason why the camp wouldn't be able to keep Richie there like one of the spirits, seeing as he's technically dead or should be and has died on the grounds. Then Halloween/Devil's Night would come into play and he's allowed to visit the Hotel Cortez for March's dinner party with the other serial killers. Perhaps he even used Devil's Night, or Satan, to fake his death in '94 so people wouldn't come looking for him and the ghosts at the dinner party either believe his faked death or are under a glamour or a spell that makes them see Richie as a ghost or however ghosts detect/sense/know other ghosts are authentic ghosts. Maybe he spikes the absinthe with a potion or ingredient that does this, or Satan justs snaps his finger and it happens. Or maybe it's just a perk or symptom of having succeeded at faking his death in the mortal world. And everybody he encounters believes he's a ghost, unless he wants them to know he's actually alive as in the case Billie Lourd's character in S9 (can't remember name atm). And all supernatural beings/magical humans (witches, warlocks, mediums, etc.) always see him as a ghost unless otherwise granted the knowledge that he's alive by Richie himself. Of course, Richie would also wonder why Satan doesn't let him leave the camp forever but perhaps Satan needs Richie's soul at the camp as Billie Dean said a "conduit" between Earth and Hell. I believe Satan is the entity trying to break through and uses Murder House, Hotel Cortez, Camp Redwood (and possibly Briarcliff Manor and the Roanoke House and surrounding woods) as gateways or Hellmouths (similar to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and how Buffy Summers protects the Sunnydale Hellmouth, a literal mouth of Hell). I believe this second theory makes a lot more sense than simply Richie escaping on his own and it expands the lore and mythology of AHS, tying S9 even more to previous seasons and the show's logistics. Then again, I could be just spewing a theory that isn't actually what the writers thought train traveled. But maybe it'll help ease your confusion and frustration over the plot hole, something I was also frustrated over until I did my own detective work. What started out as a simple and short reply to help clear up some continuity confusion/frustration became a ridiculously long explanation consisting of a possible theory that most likely was not the actually intention of show's writers'. I apologize for my reply becoming this long. I need to work on this flaw, of going to in depth of something so minor in the show. EDITED: spelling error - ovet, fixed to over.
