Homeless junkies have trashed grants pass. It used to be a nice town. The laws changed recently forbidding camping in the parks and things have improved a little.
So ,I see one of Medford's favorite sons on the cover of the video, but their is no mention of him in the story. Daniel Doughty ( not sure of the spelling) has been a familiar figure in Medford for years. He is a kind hearted person.
Ashland suck for fires every year ,horrible air quality every year ,stay away to many tourists
Mr.travis there's options, health department, hospital,CRC treatment center,Allcare there are plenty of resources to help the homeless we all got clear minds tell the intelligent people to surrender on how things SHOULD be instead they have 2 roads to walk the worldly walk our the pay it forward surrender the attitude and listen to the healthy support
As a recovering opioid addict (with 8+ years sober) who's experienced homelessness, I appreciate the level of empathy you bring to your work. It's obviously a complex issue with multiple layers going way back in time, as you succinctly point out. We need more folks like you out there to help bridge the gap between people on both sides of these issues. Keep up the good work!
Thanks. I enjoyed making this video, it's just a lot of work! 😳
It's basicslly just a budget rain showerhead dont worry
That is so correct can't no one speak for the homeless but the homeless because it is their experience 🤔🤨🙄🤔
No one has to tell anybody why the people in America is homeless first of all the the wages that they make the income that they have coming in for the two and three jobs if they're working on it's not sufficient to pay all the bills that they have. It is not enough money for the people to pay rent and pay for food gas and etcetera and etcetera. You figure it out 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Thanks for this video. I was born and raised here. I agree with you 💯.....watching in 2024.✌️
Thank you for watching - I need to do an update!
The wife and I did this only having to pay $1000 as an "earnest" payment and $300ish for a home inspection for a $169,000 home in Portland. Bonus...we also qualified for a 1st time buyers $10k from gov. on down payment..... fixed 3.75% ....The NEXT year markets went crazy and now after 10 year our home is worth double plus! 1000% life changing!
That is amazing! This is really a great opportunity for people!!
ohhhh the secret YOU craves to freestyle a song or two.....You may not even realize it....but it true. Good for you bro! I hope you do it. It WILL change your life brotha.
Maybe sir! Thank you!
subbed! you rock bro
Thank you sir!
My question is which state is best for someone with a pension. With no income tax, it sounds like Washington, but lower cost of living in Oregon is also enticing. Kinda just want a clear answer so I know where I can settle in the PNW. 😅 Gimme Bigfoot, flannel, coffee shops, and rain!
Neither state are amazing in the tax/cost of living realm. It really depends on what weather you want I suppose. Oregon has a little less rain in most areas, but plenty of coffee shops and flannel!! ❤️
I Visited your KZread channel and noticed it ranks lower than others. SEO(Search engine optimization) is lacking, though your content is fantastic. Do you know why your videos aren't attracting more views? One key factor is insufficient SEO (your videos' SEO score is 0/100%, that's why your video is not reaching out to the people and you do not have many subscribers, views, likes, watch time, and comments. If you like, I can help you with improving it 80-90%. I think your KZread channel will make your dream come true. I am waiting for your response
Travis, thank you for the time, effort and thoughtfulness you put into this short film. I have been following the Supreme Court case closely as I am looking to relocate to GP hopefully in the next year or so. To the casual outside observer, one may draw the conclusion that GP s filled with heartless people. You did a fantastic job of showing the heart in your city, the people giving voice to the voiceless. Again, great job.
Thanks Jeff for watching and your compliment. Let me know when you’re headed this way and how I can help!
In GrantsPass org.its now iegals for anyone homeless too sleep ok.yes just sleep ING ok.this is un-American ok.and this city of GrantsPass or.must be Russia ok.wow.how nasty a American city can be.mean.note all tourists do not stop here at all ,why this city ant for America's at all.by preacher.
The entitlement is baffling. Im so angry at what's happened to my town
All homeless people do not use drugs. That is such an insult 🙄🤔🤨 and all homeless people are not using alcohol either 🙄🤔🤨😊
Did I say that? Did I imply that? Or are you just making a statement?
@@mrmouse-ol9pw Making a sta according to what I have seen and heard concerning the homeless people in America USA. The American Citizens. That have. And still are taxpayers in America USA. At this present time. However; is homeless of no fault of their own.🙄🤔🤨
@maryfaye1327 oh so you're judging the US based off what? You're not here. So how would you know what the percentage of homeless here in Grants Pass OR are addicts/alcoholics and choose this life?
@maryfaye1327 I do live in Grants Pass OR so I think I'm in a better position to state facts about the situation here in Grants Pass OR
hi neighbor
CFS?
Inflation made it worst ! ...
We just moved to Ashland to a neighborhood next to North Mountain Park and across from the Culture Center. It's called Riverwalk. Our backyard opens to parkland. It's wonderful. The development is relatively new (2005) by Ashland standards. There is an HOA, but generally, they are helpful and hands-off.
Can a narcissist become President? There will never be a more significant case for the Supreme Court to decide on than the one that could make homelessness a crime. To give control of the law over to a narcissistic belief system that allows some people to force other people to leave their neighborhoods by denying them sleep and the act of relieving themselves is inhumane to say the least and goes against meaning with the Constitution that everybody has inalienable rights in God to survive. The Supreme Court cannot take that away. If they do I believe sooner than later Americans will start to feel the spirit of damnation surrounding their existence to the flag. Nothing is worse than for a country to be damned out of life's purpose by making laws against nature that no one can live without. Damnation should not be the American spirit that shows up in its norms and mores for children to follow going after the brass ring. Learning to kill without touching someone is not a subject children should be taught in school. What is gaslighting? Gaslighting is a form of psychological abuse where a person causes someone to question their sanity, memories, or perception of reality. People who experience gaslighting may feel confused, anxious, or unable to trust themselves. It is through gaslighting (flip-flopping) that narcissists use to keep control of their environment. Creating homelessness out of narcissistic abuses is not what our forefathers intended when they wrote the Constitution.
Hopefully medford can bring more entertainment to southern Oregon like dave n busters, big als, level up, round one, punch bowl social club... Southern Oregon is lacking in fun places like that
I blame inflation and drugs.. When I first visited Grants Pass I found a motel for 4 dollars a night, and everything cost far less. If you can balance your bank account, you're far more intelligent than the people who got us into this mess.
You gotta love deer. They're everywhere in Ashland. The deer own the town.
Belknap & Lithia use chlorine. Go to Jackson Wellsprings instead for true mineral water hotsprings. Summer Lake Hotsprings is beyond medicinal and goes back longer than any of the others. The oldest human remains in North & South America were discovered in caves in Paisley where the hotsprings is located. The land has powerful energy!
I'm related to "Yar". His problems run deep. Primary among them is the end of his marriage. He was not blameless in that. As far as "providing" the homeless with "a home", have you all actually forgotten "the projects" of the "War on Poverty"? Are we actually going to go back there? The reason why those structures no longer exist is because they had to be demolished. My beautiful home is older than the earliest such projects because I didn't destroy it and I actually maintained it. Communism (including "free housing") simply doesn't work. Period. It doesn't matter what you call it, how you frame it, how you color it, or how you convince the providers that i5 has to happen. You will end up with just another mess. And so we tumble forward, constantly repeating the same mistakes, and repeating the errors that will always be. "...........The poor you will always have with you; but you will not always have me..........." Matthew 26: 11
There are a few that want help, but more dont want help other then to buy their next fix. You cant help the ones that dont want to help themself
bus the homeless to portland where they want them there.
hahaha love that you made "your own hot spring" hehe Bagby hot springs looks like a very unique experience. Wow I sure am getting the feeling that I neeeeed to explore Oregon! The more I learn the more the super natural Umpqua hot springs seems like my cup of tea but now Terwilliger I had not heard of and it looks incredible!!! Wow! Literally working on travel plans after catching this video. Thank you so much.
You are so WELCOME!!!
Follow the money homelessness is big money The liberals want to make society dependent on them
This makes me sad. I left a week before the fire. I was there for five years before. So sad.
And if you consider Central Point since we're practically connected to it, it becomes well over 100k 😱
Travis thanks for the great video!
You’re welcome! Are you in Medford?
@tmoddison Ashland, but half of my jobs have been in Medford.

Huh?
We call it grants passed out😂
Nice! I used to call it “Grass Pants” 👖
I’ll pass on grants pass 😂
You do you!
Great advice!
Thank you!
Orr gonn yuk.
I know, right?
going to say a leaking or damaged septic can get fined daily till repaired. In some places the city inspector gets notified of the sale and sends someone out to check it. if it has been leaking they may be required to remove the old one and the contaminated earth around it and replace with clean fill if you have an inspector without much going on you can be the lucky winner of his attention
Great comment! Then if you don't have much room to replace it and also have to abandon the drain field, you may have just purchased a place without the ABILITY TO EVEN HAVE A SEPTIC TANK!!! Have you seen either of these scenarios before?
If I had an Dollar for every time i see, hear, or read the word location, i would be super rich
Same as if we buy in the right location?
Problem #1: you're buying in the soviet state of oregon.
Quite so.

Not buying land, but I sure did buying a house. Bought it from looking at pictures, it was only 1 yr old so they talked me out of getting an inspection…always get an inspection boy the things builders do to save money…..I’m thinking of buy a few acres here in Tennessee and watching your video made me aware of the “ what’s on the property” that car made me really think, so really appreciate your experience😁 Thank you.
I was given a quarter acre lot in the West Texas desert in exchange for test driving a new car. But I had to pick out my lot from a survey map. I picked out a lot a quarter mile back from the highway because there was an electric line near the lot and I figured it would be cheaper and easier for getting electric. But when I finally got out to see the property (10 years later), the electric line turned out to be a high-tension line bringing power into the town. The line I needed was along the highway. Ultimately, it worked out fine as the high-tension line was not on my lot. It was behind me. But I am glad I did not pick the actual lot with the wires on it. Because they would have been running above my house. And I could not really build under them anyway because there was 40 foot utility easement. And you are not supposed to build a building on a utility easement. However, the electric company did have a policy to run electric from the highway to my lot for free. So I had no trouble getting electricity. And as an added bonus, the electricity guys graded a drive to my place so that they could get their giant trucks back in. Which was important to me because the so-called barren deserts are covered with prickly pear cactus, ocotillo trees, and griswood bushes and stuff. When they were drilling the holes for the utility poles the drill brought a vertebrae of some prehistoric animal. A really unexpected thing, though, came up. I started having a lot of foot traffic at my house who were illegal aliens. I found out later that the Mexican government runs adds on Mexican television telling "migrants" when they cross into the United States, follow the electric wires for safety (because you can easily die in the desert).
Did you open a taco shop?
@whitehorse1961 No. I opened a lemonade stand on the highway and sold lemonade out of the back of my Scout. There were 4 Mexican restaurants in my town that were owned by Mexican women who knew how to cook. I was in tostada Heaven.
This is a cool story!
Much of the homeless problems are drug problems

"legal" means they greased the palms of the state for permission to use the property that you "own" they way you want ("own" in quotes, because Americans don't own anything any more).
Dang - I don't disagree, but do you think it can change?
When we first looked at our 33 acres, it had been sitting for months in a suoer hot market. We couldnt figure out why. We did our due diligence and there was nothing wrong so we purchased. Once we explored it, it had atv trails, water amd an awesome spot to build on bedrock. So my point is sometimes you win. It didnt sell cause the agent didnt put a sign up. Thats it. He was doing a favor for family and just didnt care. And btw, with our house on it, it is worth 7 times what we paid.
This is awesome. I've pinned this comment. When did y'all do that, and how long did it take to build?
@@tmoddison we are in the middle part of Ontario and purchased about 3 years ago. We are actually still building and living in a cottage on the property. It should be completed this summer. One piece of advice I can give is building roads and driveways are super expensive. Inflation also slowed us. We received an appraisal from a local agent based on completion.
