As a recovering opioid addict (with 8+ years sober) who's experienced homelessness, I appreciate the level of empathy you bring to your work. It's obviously a complex issue with multiple layers going way back in time, as you succinctly point out. We need more folks like you out there to help bridge the gap between people on both sides of these issues. Keep up the good work!

My question is which state is best for someone with a pension. With no income tax, it sounds like Washington, but lower cost of living in Oregon is also enticing. Kinda just want a clear answer so I know where I can settle in the PNW. 😅 Gimme Bigfoot, flannel, coffee shops, and rain!

Do you know why your videos aren't attracting more views? One key factor is insufficient SEO (your videos' SEO score is 0/100%, that's why your video is not reaching out to the people and you do not have many subscribers, views, likes, watch time, and comments. Travis, thank you for the time, effort and thoughtfulness you put into this short film. I have been following the Supreme Court case closely as I am looking to relocate to GP hopefully in the next year or so. To the casual outside observer, one may draw the conclusion that GP s filled with heartless people. You did a fantastic job of showing the heart in your city, the people giving voice to the voiceless. Again, great job.

Can a narcissist become President? There will never be a more significant case for the Supreme Court to decide on than the one that could make homelessness a crime. To give control of the law over to a narcissistic belief system that allows some people to force other people to leave their neighborhoods by denying them sleep and the act of relieving themselves is inhumane to say the least and goes against meaning with the Constitution that everybody has inalienable rights in God to survive. The Supreme Court cannot take that away. If they do I believe sooner than later Americans will start to feel the spirit of damnation surrounding their existence to the flag. Nothing is worse than for a country to be damned out of life's purpose by making laws against nature that no one can live without. Damnation should not be the American spirit that shows up in its norms and mores for children to follow going after the brass ring. Learning to kill without touching someone is not a subject children should be taught in school. What is gaslighting? Gaslighting is a form of psychological abuse where a person causes someone to question their sanity, memories, or perception of reality. People who experience gaslighting may feel confused, anxious, or unable to trust themselves. It is through gaslighting (flip-flopping) that narcissists use to keep control of their environment. Creating homelessness out of narcissistic abuses is not what our forefathers intended when they wrote the Constitution.

I'm related to "Yar". His problems run deep. Primary among them is the end of his marriage. He was not blameless in that. As far as "providing" the homeless with "a home", have you all actually forgotten "the projects" of the "War on Poverty"? Are we actually going to go back there? The reason why those structures no longer exist is because they had to be demolished. My beautiful home is older than the earliest such projects because I didn't destroy it and I actually maintained it. Communism (including "free housing") simply doesn't work. Period. It doesn't matter what you call it, how you frame it, how you color it, or how you convince the providers that i5 has to happen. You will end up with just another mess. And so we tumble forward, constantly repeating the same mistakes, and repeating the errors that will always be. "...........The poor you will always have with you; but you will not always have me..........." Matthew 26: 11

going to say a leaking or damaged septic can get fined daily till repaired. In some places the city inspector gets notified of the sale and sends someone out to check it. if it has been leaking they may be required to remove the old one and the contaminated earth around it and replace with clean fill if you have an inspector without much going on you can be the lucky winner of his attention

  • @tmoddison

I was given a quarter acre lot in the West Texas desert in exchange for test driving a new car. But I had to pick out my lot from a survey map. I picked out a lot a quarter mile back from the highway because there was an electric line near the lot and I figured it would be cheaper and easier for getting electric. But when I finally got out to see the property (10 years later), the electric line turned out to be a high-tension line bringing power into the town. The line I needed was along the highway. Ultimately, it worked out fine as the high-tension line was not on my lot. It was behind me. But I am glad I did not pick the actual lot with the wires on it. Because they would have been running above my house. And I could not really build under them anyway because there was 40 foot utility easement. And you are not supposed to build a building on a utility easement. However, the electric company did have a policy to run electric from the highway to my lot for free. So I had no trouble getting electricity. And as an added bonus, the electricity guys graded a drive to my place so that they could get their giant trucks back in. Which was important to me because the so-called barren deserts are covered with prickly pear cactus, ocotillo trees, and griswood bushes and stuff. When they were drilling the holes for the utility poles the drill brought a vertebrae of some prehistoric animal. A really unexpected thing, though, came up. I started having a lot of foot traffic at my house who were illegal aliens. I found out later that the Mexican government runs adds on Mexican television telling "migrants" when they cross into the United States, follow the electric wires for safety (because you can easily die in the desert).

When we first looked at our 33 acres, it had been sitting for months in a suoer hot market. We couldnt figure out why. We did our due diligence and there was nothing wrong so we purchased. Once we explored it, it had atv trails, water amd an awesome spot to build on bedrock. So my point is sometimes you win. It didnt sell cause the agent didnt put a sign up. Thats it. He was doing a favor for family and just didnt care. And btw, with our house on it, it is worth 7 times what we paid.
