a dream
unreal mate.
Curious about the cost of this awesome project? We're buying SYNLawn turf soon, but probably not this....yet. Thanks!
Check out the one star rating on Yelp, pictures included. Almost $30,000 down the drain.

to many wrinkles
Great Job. My crew missed adding glue for seams. Any thoughts or alternatives?.
Great video, I was planning on tackling my 50sqm area, but after seeing this.... I think I'll rather just hire a professional. LOL
Where do I get the aggregate screen?
When through the exact same scenario! Looks great good job!
After the compacted base I would have screeded the area with 1" of #8 stone
I have a decorative concrete company and all the necessary tools, can I reach out to someone from corporate
Wow, this is amazing
Yikes. Cleaning leaves and other tree debris would be a nightmare
This is why you call a professional
Do you put a weed barrier?
horrible work.
Aside from the wait what is the purpose of the smart fill?
This is the best video ever, my wife and I just bought a home and want to save a few thousand you really broke this down…..off to Menards and Home Depot I go!
pretty funky tune there
What ground plate contractor is that?
I was just going to say that you should have used Aggregate (decomposed granite) fill. The decomposed granite with a sand mix is by far the best base for artificial turf as well as pavers. Evenly spread out the granite and tamp it down really good. Then spread a light level of sand on top and tamp again. You want the top level of the base to be as smooth as possible making sure that there are no rocks or debris on the tamped surface. If using landscape rock it will have little voids and gaps in-between the individual rock even after tamping.
How did u maintain in rainy season??
I inherited a property with a small sloped garden with artificial grass. The grass is sloped and at the bottom stops against a sleeper along with the rainwater. How can I diy this plz buddy ?
Thanks
What about placing this on a hill. We have a very sloped yard and cannot grow anything there. We are considering this.
A good video and well discussed procedure. A lot better than most I've seen.
Yes use DG atleast 3” not only for compact but gives a better cushion on grass.
you forgot the weed barrier
Weed barrier is not recommend if you have pets that will use the turf as a potty area. This is with most turf manufacturers if you read the manufacturer installation manual.
Around the hard edges, how high is the sub base level compared to the edge itself?
Approximate price per square foot installed please??
Depends on where you live: In Austin TX between $12 and $20 per SF installed. In NM between $7 and $12 per SF installed.
Stop killing wildlife and damaging our health and environment with plastic grass
The F bomb got me… I did learn something… I’m paying someone to do it for me 😂😂😂
Lol same here
Awesome video, thanks bro. My kids have a nice yard now!
Great video very informative. Hope you don't mind if I share it with our online shoppers.
I would like to but i don<t have enought money to afford a house.
End all artificial grass. Anyone who uses it is just terrible lazy garbage human
Pros and cons
Vile and tacky to look at and a road to ecological ruin. Bad news for the health of people and wildlife. Also release carcinogenic chemical compounds as they photodegrade, get too hot to walk on in summer and devastating for our dying wildlife. I refuse all requests to install it so I can sleep at night. Plastic gardens. Ugh, What a world we live in.
You are right, this is not a one man job.
Thanks for the video. I was thinking crushed gravel as the base under the turf.
I have artificial grass on my front lawn and back and it stays green and perfect no mowing or watering My dog runs around on it no dead grass from pee no dead spots.
@Skankhunt 42 no it’s not it’s irrelevant it’s not even comparable artificial grass has something called drainage system underneath the grass into the gravel
what prep work needs to be done outside prior to setting up the putting green if I do not have a concrete pad?
Great educational videos. Any tips for drainage? For artificial grass specifically, would the drain opening be flush to the grass (exposed) or below it in the base rock ( concealed)? Is it a problem to have stragnant water in the base rocks for days. My soil isnt very permeable. Thanks much
I’d excavate it out and bring in class 5 for a base. Drain tile if the sub base is really unstable
I am an horticulturist based in Nigeria, Africa. I deal with natural grass and flowers and I love the artificial turf and will like to learn it as additional knowledge. It would be highly appreciated if you can you help me out.
