    @@everygooddaydesigns Lowering the focus for thick materials will help. It’s in the EasySet panel for cuts. There’s even a suggestion out there to add the feature to lower the focus after n passes on a multipass cut. For example you could lower the focus after 2 passes on a 4 pass cut. That’s a feature in some other software out there. Technically you can probably accomplish that by copying the path and changing the focus on which ever one is second but the suggested feature would make it much easier.

    @@drdisko yeah, its been a really awesome machine so far. The software is pretty easy to learn as well. I recommend skipping the conveyor feeder unless you are doing thinner material and only plan to engrave. I also can't recommend their IR laser, the first laser I got almost immediatly gave warnings for over heating. They replaced that laser with a new one and it did the same thing. I began to troubleshoot random things like check the air assist and see if it was causing the issue and other things. I think its a software issue but I have not been able to confirm that yet. So? outcome with Xtool support? I have the D1Pro 2w IR module and have yet to get anything remotely acceptable off it regarding anodized aluminum. While they have replaced the module once and sent me a focus gage, the results using their default xcs settings and experimenting leaves the same awful results… While my D1 has proven excellent regarding 455nm 20w , the 2W IR is simply problematic at best!

  • @everygooddaydesigns
    @everygooddaydesignsАй бұрын

    Same, they sent me a replacement but the replacement did not fix the problem, this makes me think that either the hardware itself is terribly built or there is an issue with the software. I like the idea of being able to engrave metal but if the engraver can only run 2 seconds at a time then whats the point. I believe the IR laser is not of much value at this point. However, it could be a problem with my specific setup because I cant seem to find anyone else with this same issue. Very strange.

    i understand the 40w laser module should be cleaned after every 30 minutes of use, or probably an 1-2 hours with air assist on high, and i would definitely take the noticeable chunks and tray debris out often.... how often should the S1 be cleaned and lubricated like this?

  • @everygooddaydesigns
    @everygooddaydesigns3 ай бұрын

    The chunks and debris get removed pretty much everytime, however, I do not wipe the sticky residue from the wood on the tray too often. The honey comb makes this less of a concern. As far as how often it should be cleaned and lubricated, I don't have the official answer. I've been doing it roughly every month or two depnding on how often I use it. Basically if the laser head is super dirty or there is a lot of build up on the walls I take that as an indicator to lube the bars
