    I have a 96 coupe lt4. It's been rebuilt, torqhead conversion and coil packs. C6 ecu. Brand new pilot sport as4, corsa exhaust. Torch red, or please arrest me officer red. Just did the weather stripping. 67k miles. She was a single owner car, garage kept all her life. I'm having an absolute blast driving it.

    Clogged between condenser and radiator with leaves, needles etc will cause high temps. Replace stock radiator with aftermarket with increased cooling. Fans come on at 226, off at 215. Since new radiator our 89 hasn’t kicked the fans on since.

    I have a 1993 Anniversary ZR1 corvette that I paid $3800 for, that was sitting behind a building, close to the Pacific Ocean, that is in neglected condition! The stereo doesn't work, and I suspect the CDM. I can see some water/corrosion damage.

    Every time I watch a video about the LT1 and they start talking about 5 or 6 K RPM and still pulling I question it not that it won't do it but I don't think I ever had my 92 over 3500 I guess I am just a pussy lol. Really I have just put so much time and money into it I don't have any desire to beat on it. PA the opti is not very difficult it just takes a little time to remove everything which is not much different to cars made today .

  • @VetteSource
    @VetteSource7 күн бұрын

    Yep, the LT1 has a very broad, flat torque curve across the RPM range until around 6000 as opposed to the L98 that had more grunt down low below 3500. With the 4 bolt mains in the Corvette LT1's it's hard to hurt them unless you're aiming to bounce it off the rev limiter all the time😁

    I am looking at purchasing a 1996 LT4 with low miles, original owner, and he has experienced a soft code on the ASR. The code is 0065 and he hasn’t been able to clear it. It stays lit on the info center. He has looked at all the wiring to the front left wheel area as that where it says it is, but cannot find anything in particular. Can you please help with this as I would like to proceed on the sale!? Thank you!

    I have an 81 Corvette with a new battery. Has been starting no problem all summer until last week. No electric. Had battery on trickle charger and displayed battery as fully charged. Went to turn ignition and even in accessory mode there's no power of any kind. No dome light, footwell light radio, nada. Not sure where the issue is but wish me luck

    How much do you usually pay for a parts car

  • @VetteSource
    @VetteSource15 күн бұрын

    Hey Terry, it depends on quite a few factors like the type, location, and extent of the damage of the car. With that being said, over the 25 years I've been by buying them, I paid as little as $0 up to $15,000.

    The key to TPI is no vacuum leaks, and proper sensors all working correctly. THEN you can consider the typical mods….larger throttle bore or larger runners for intake…then typical small to medium bore headers. But still you have the L98 heads to deal with…. If you can wrap your mind around 3500-4500 max rpm the L98 TPI engine is for you

    Best looking factory intake manifold ever 👍🏻 I could care less if it dies at 4500, because it’s making killer torque up to that point. That makes a good 0-60 street car.

    Sound like a 'vette knowledgeable person. Wish you lived near me because I have a sick '96 LT4. Just got it back from a shop that had a year and finally threw in the towel. They did get it running but after replacing the ECM, Optispark, and few other things checked it is still showing some codes and on the DIC it is showing check engine, ASR Off, and service ASR. While it will sit and idle I am afraid to drive it that it will konk out on the road.....lol

    @VetteSource, I have the following fuel system-related issue/question and hope you or someone else may have an answer: From one day to the next, I have a problem fueling up. At our Costco, I could not add more than 0.1 Gallon, and the filler would shut off. Now, I have the same issue at any gas station. I researched (Google, KZread, Reddit, Corvette forums, etc.) and only found 2 issues that seemed potentially 'my issue'; 1. I replaced the messed up 'fuel neck', and 2. the EPA Vapor Canister Vent Valve, but no change at all. One mechanic suggested that I lower the gas tank and check/replace the fuel entry flap, but I have not seen nor read anything about this even existing, and I don't think I have the means/ability to go about this myself, hence my question here. Thanks a lot in advance for any insights.

  • @VetteSource
    @VetteSourceАй бұрын

    That's a common problem from the GM vehicles of that era and very frustrating. I've experienced the same problem on my Suburban. What you need to do is disconnect the fuel vapor vent tube from the vapor charcoal canister and blow it out with compressed air. It should clear the line and allow the fuel vapors to escape from the tank as you fill it with fuel. Let me know how it turns out👍
