Wish I saw this 5 years ago. Dang. 👌
Very good talk, thanks! Are the links from the presentation (or the presentation itself) available?
Thank you for an catching me up on the past 15 years of R. I look forward to begin a part of the community for the next 15+ years
Why does she keep sniggering like its funny. Dont disagree with her but it was hard to listen to, remembering the calls of those stuck inside begging for help. She needs to sound more serious not like she's selling it.
I have got to make it to a Lander conference before Dr. G decides to retire ❤ huge huge fan Thank you for posting
thank you!
Can I get the mathematics behind this model?
Excellent
Awesome stuff!
Embedded in time is a remarkable generalization range from a survey in a morning or afternoon, a coin flip or a sporting event (the last example). I would say the sporting event has a "historical context" but that is more specific (narrower) than time.

Did she go to indiana state think might meet her in 90s
My new website name is SlideCraft Solutions
psych student reading a cognitiive paper, you just 6.41 saved my soul from breaking <3
Studied Stats with The Gelman 14 years ago, and still miss it to this day, so I came here to relive the feeling. Legend.
Everyone needs to learn about what Sarah is doing and how she’s being throttled and censored! Share anything you find with her. Try finding Sarah on the Shawn Ryan Show, good luck.
💖
That is Dr Daniel to you😮
Saw Sarah on The Shawn Ryan show and was enamored. This is woman is highly intelligent and knows her stuff. She’s also not afraid to say a lot of things that everyone else is. If she sees something wrong, she speaks up and doesn’t give a damn who doesn’t like it. People like her are a part of the very few that still give me faith in our government.
Same here. Bought her book and have been trying to find other podcasts about her talking about Benghazi. I’m obsessed
Thanks David. Could you please also make a tutorial of Copilot for Rstudio since copilot is available in Rstudio.

Some concrete examples might have made it far more interesting….

Great presentation! What about mapview?
Mapview is great, but to me it is mostly a wrapper around leaflet, so I just went for the lower level API.
Or did the damn randomisation correctly 😅
belgian beer and andrew gelman on the shelve :)
I'd like to plot data from a csv file, but allow the user to select which series to show. The plot would autoscale accordingly. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any off-the-shelf solutions for this.. perhaps csv-plot and plotjuggler being the closest. So looking to learn how to program this (unsucessful with chat-gpt).. so was wondering what might be the easiest for a beginner? Javascript seems to have (by far) the most charting libraries (ggplot, Observable, D3, plotly.js etc), but python has gnuplot-py, matplotlib. In the end, I need to chart *AND* have a gui that allows the data to be selectively shown or not!
Very cool!
Poor dude looking at nothing not able to talk for 10 minutes hurts man
Coding
David Robinson is a machine!
Lately I have had a lot of problem running Quarto on my mac (from older intel macs to M1 mac running the lastest OS). Perhaps an issue with Mac.
Neat even though it is just an approximation. Might be even better for looking at the effect of climate change - that is coastal flooding. You could compare with some of the known simulations that NOAA and other scientists have done.
Don't forget university departments have used GIS for a long time not just government agencies.
🎉 great presentation, thanks for sharing

Lmao every time!!
Bro is hosting a talk and couldn't find the effort to put that dirty plate away lol
Does anyone use parque files for map data? That would allow one to use the superfast and memory low Apache Arrow standard.
why we have to move to Quarto from rmarkdown? I don't want to move.
Thanks for sharing this
I could do all of this in Bing Chat before for free. I just wrote a prompt and requested code snippets that I copied and pasted in my IDE. Now MSFT has removed this feature to force me to buy subscription of Copilot. How greedy is that!
Ruby, don't take your code to town!
