    Thank you for this gauge series. I definitely find gauge swatching tedious, but I seem to crochet tighter than "normal" so it is always important to swatch,and now I understand how to troubleshoot things better. Thanks again! ❤🧶❤️

    Hi, I bought the pillow. Yes, it's pricing, very poor quality. The moment you put your elbows on it. It sinks, and it is not worth the money. What I ended up doing was. I had my son's Bobby pillow. And I put it inside there, added it in and it was much more firm and way better.

    Crochet thread items was also my first thought in answer to the summer craft show question…maybe because I’ve been making bookmarks lately. 😊 There are so many patterns that you can adapt to using thread instead of yarn. Earrings would probably sell well. I love making them, but my hands complain if I do too many.

    I chuckled that you said all crafters say “I could make that!”. When my husband and I were married MANY years ago, we shopped and shopped for a bed with our monetary wedding gifts. We kept saying “We could make our own bed!” Which we did. And we weren’t nearly the crafty people we grew to be. Thanks for the laugh!

    The colors of the Yarn Ink acquisition are very similar to your Lumi Cowl (at least on my monitor) !! Beautiful. Question - would you tell me more about the large ring on your right hand middle finger? It's really pretty and quite striking. Maybe you shared at some point in your small biz section. But as a new watcher, it might be a while before I stumbled upon the right episode.

    I totally agree that having crochet shop samples is a "nod" to being crochet-friendly. I think shop owners who do not crochet or feel very inexperienced about crochet are reluctant to have crochet samples for which they can't provide assistance or answer questions effectively. Perhaps it's also difficult to find shop associates who can fill that need for in-shop crochet experience. Even if they can find that, very often shop associates are part-time and not available when the questioning crocheter visits the shop. So rather than avoid the uncomfortable feeling that they can't provide assistance, they just avoid it altogether. I love to crochet (and knit) samples! I support two LYSs currently (crocheted and knitted samples). I enjoy the opportunity to work with new yarns and try new patterns/designers.

    Very good discussion. How close would you say is "close enough"?

  • @SEKHandmade
    @SEKHandmadeАй бұрын

    Great question. I think it really depends on what you're making. If it's something that doesn't need a close fit, than you may not have to be too accurate. Just be sure you have enough yarn. If it's a pattern that needs a fairly close fit, you may want to think about making adjustments depending on the construction of the project.
