Filthy Off Road Adventures

Filthy Off Road Adventures

We are a couple passionate about exploration & discovery, traveling with our two boxer dogs. Our journey will take us around Australia in a Jeep Gladiator, towing a Lifestyle Reconn R2 SE Hyper Camper. The Reconn is on order with an ETA of Jan 2025, so we are currently camping out of a Mod Con Forward Fold Camper or a swag

We aim to experience & share the diverse landscapes and cultures of Australia. From coasts to outback, we’re excited to explore and document our travels. We offer tips & insights for a successful overlanding adventure.

Join us as we navigate beautiful scenery & immerse ourselves in unique experiences.

Follow our journey & get inspired to embark on your own adventures in the great outdoors.

Together, we'll explore the wonders of Australia, one road at a time.

    Just did the Oombulgurri track (Carson River stock route) in the Kimberley...for the second time !! (sucker for punishment).I reckon the toughest 4WD track in Oz....and I have done the CSR (x 3), CREB etc. One of my mates was running these on his Ineos Grenadier, and I have to say, they performed flawlessly. I was very impressed.

    Man I am so jealous the Oombulgurri Track is high on my bucket list and hope to get it done over the next few years. Keen to do the CSR but really want to do it towing which can’t do. Have done the Creb a few times and loved it. How was the Ineos?

    @@filthyoffroadadventures Well, you have to know he had the entire family (incl 3 teenagers), with a lot of gear on the roof, and no room for even a cigarette paper in the back. I suspect he was a tad over his GVM. So, that's the background. Frankly, it was f***ing amazing.That transmission is a miracle, the motor was totally unworried (but a bit thirsty at 24l/100km.....my 200 did 18). It made a lifted, JMAXCed 79, all singing -all dancing build look clumsy. To watch it nail the Moons jump up south of the Forrest River, and cross the Durack (where the 79 threw a very beefy rear shock) was just amazing. For me , however, the onboard acreage for the driver in an Ineos is too small - I wont be swapping out of my 200.

  • @filthyoffroadadventures
    @filthyoffroadadventures7 күн бұрын

    Wow impressive. Personally feel the 70’s are over rated I’d take the 200 over them all day (can hear the crowds with pitch forks forming 😂). You sure have done some cool tracks great to see people out there really getting after it.

    @@filthyoffroadadventures In the NW deserts, did the Old Gunbarrel, the Gary, the shot line across to the Eagle (I wrote and will be recording a song about that "The Shotline to Nowhere"), the Warri site, then overland from Kwirrikurra to Balgo (bloody interesting....and we needed specific TO permission to do that), swam in Lake Gregory (full as a tick), but Gregory NP was closed (rain damage)... All the tracks were heavily overgrown, and I have last a few pieces of my Bush Barriers. And will;l need to do a lot of buffing... And went through 7 tyres.... But as the adage goes : if you can't afford to pay, then don't play !! Agree entirely re 200 v 70s. My truck never missed a beat, crawled happily over everything, and was as comfortable as all getout. I started with a 60, then a couple of 80s, a couple of 100s and now this one - love 'em !! Now happily (?) back in Brizvegas.....altho I do prefer winter temps in the Kimberly !!

    In September 2014 myself, my then 7 year old daughter and then 4 year old son travelled from Lyndhurst to Cameron Corner via Merty Merty Station in an 80 series Landcruiser towing a Jayco Swift pop top tourer. 436 kilometres of bone jarring teeth rattling corrugations. I think I've received 3 testing kits now (I'm 57), and I don't hesitate to take them. A colleague at work just turned 50, and I told him to expect the kit.
