  To be fair, the car that "came out of nowhere" and "was rushing ahead of you to make the turn", is probably judging their actions based on the speeds that bicycles normally go... drivers don't expect bicyclists who aren't pedaling to go whizzing by at 35mph. Look at it from their perspective.

  I really appreciate your comment. You may not have considered it, but at this point I have thought of this event from every perspective imaginable. The car was in the extreme left lane, realized they were about to miss their turn, and suddenly cut across 2 lanes to the right to make the right turn. I happened to be concurrently occupying that space. That’s exactly why it appeared they “came out of nowhere,” since I didn’t see them in my rear-view mirror. Regarding bicycle speeds, drivers should not try to erratically turn when a bicycle is right at the threshold of that driveway, no matter how fast or slow the bicycle is going. Have you ever seen a manually-powered road bicycle going downhill? The average road bike speed on a flat road is 17-22 mph. Going downhill, it's easy to get up to 40 mph. I was pedaling on an eBike going downhill and going slower than most road bikes would go in the same spot. Drivers should give me the same consideration they would give any bicycle. This driver was not considerate. The point I was making is that some drivers aren’t. Even the best intentioned drivers make errors in judgment, especially when they don’t know where they’re going or they’re not paying attention. I did not yell at this person, I was not litigious, and I did not expect them to pay for the medical bills I endured as a result of their actions. I did not mention their name or description in this video. I think simply stating that I believe they own most of the blame is fair. The point of the video, and my advice to any bicyclist, is be especially aware of every intersection or driveway you’re approaching. Slow down at these key moments and keep your head on a swivel. Before you get to the threshold, look carefully to see if any drivers appear to be acting like boneheads. Give yourself time in case you have to suddenly stop.

  You don't ride two-wheels without gloves. Glimpsing the hand of a fellow biker I was taking to the hospital, showing the bright white of bone where his palm had been wiped off after hot-rodding a Yamaha 650 back onto the beltway was enough to teach me that lesson forever.

  Very sorry to hear your mishap, hope you fully recover soon. Nice of you to warn the others about this but admitting as you did your over-speeding past the set limit and allowing the tyres to get worn out in first place is noble enough, yet might jeopardize your potential claim against the negligent car- driver. Would not do that if were you.

  some things about all these E-gizmo's are funky and lack common sense. Why? Becoz they're all made in Xiland! Why cant they make them somewhere else? Philippines? Vietnam? Anywhere but there.

  It depends on how fast you go. Probably 20 miles if you’re going full throttle.

  It has 2 batteries already…they claim 75+ miles per charge, so you have to assume that’s if you’re barely using any power. So if you’re not riding around full throttle with both motors the whole time and you’re doing a lot of pedaling, I’d bet you could probably split the difference.

  That’s funny! I recently became an Onyx RCR owner and not a grizzly owner though. Someone local now owns it so you’re still not alone. I feel like the only Onyx around here for sure. I guess if I got a Sur Ron or Rad Runner I’d be just another face in the crowd.

  Ariel bikes are a thief dream it says simply get on an take me 8 have no kill switch whatsoever. Meaning you have to take battery everywhere you go .that is annoying time consuming an stupid how and why they made the bike thus way is beyond me I just bought one an I want my money back

  Awesome video. I wouldn't brag too much about the fossil fuel helping the environment thing to much though. You still have to plug it in to a 120v wall plug. That wall plug gets its power from the grid. The grid gets its power from either a coal fired steam turbine or a gas turbine aka jet fuel jet engine (same as a Navy ship engine)...so you (we) are still using fossil fuels. California already said their grid cannot support all electric cars charging after work and AC at the same time. Fossil fuels will have to stick around for a while until we figure out how to use solar and wind more efficiently. Glad you didn't break your neck or back bro!

  Thanks! Electric bicycles need a negligible amount of energy compared to electric OR gas cars. The point is: I was able to get rid of my family’s second gas car & replace it with this. Consider the energy used to push the car down the road all the time with 1 person in it compared to this bike, which is still partially powered by human foot power. This is more akin to charging your laptop than charging a Tesla. Besides, I don’t think I was bragging too much about it, I was just listing the eBike’s pros and 1 reason for wanting it.

  I’ve been watching a lot of motorcycle safety videos. Most people don’t realize ebikes resemble motorcycles more than regular bicycles and that includes the crashes. Especially when you start at the 750w bikes. People overlook basic motorcycle riding practices(because no license) and PPE.
