    @Jase777jaseАй бұрын

    Hi there… The tackle setup is shown at 3:00 in the video. I have just tested it at 6th July 2024 and it still works fine. Unfortunately the powers that be (the developers) have made a change to the game. They have made it so that fish cannot tow the boat as much as before, However, the fish can still tow the boat, so this method is still valid. Thanks for your comment.

    Hello @Jase777jase Your video is probably the most complete and detailed one I have seen here; thanks for a great job and for sharing your knowledge. I have been having issues powering my reverse camera, as I can't identify where to connect the red wire (12V Input) on my harness. Long story short, I have a 24pin harness that connects to the back of the unit; a black box is connected to the 24pin connector by 2 cables (green and black). From that black box comes a red wire (12V Input), I guess this is the one I should use to power my camera. My question is, where does this red cable go to? I haven't been able to locate the reverse wire from the Canbus/existing loom in the car... I have plenty of pictures to show you what I'm talking about, should you have the time (and patience) to walk me through the rest of the process... My email is [email protected]. Thanks in advance!

    Hi, in the last drawing using the relay, it appears you have the c2 box going to the centre terminal on the relay, is this correct or should it be top left? 33:43

  • @Jase777jase
    @Jase777jase2 ай бұрын

    Well spotted… actually, it’s just the way I drew it, I simply meant it goes in to the relay, but yes you’re right, the way I’ve drawn it looks like it aligns with the centre pin, whereas of course it should align with the left hand pin, as per the previous drawing. So for wiring of the relay only take note of the previous drawing. Thanks for spotting this and good luck! J.

    Massive overheating problems with Chinese Audio head units!! (yeah right) Without any exaggeration whatsoever I can honestly say that I have purchased three middle of the road prices (that's right 3) Chinese head units since December last year (2023) supposedly for a Xmas present for myself & all 3 of them have given nothing but overheating problems. In actual fact, the best method to rectify this problem that so many people appear to be having is quite easy!! All you do is open the top of your rubbish bin & simply throw your Chinese head units into it & clamp the lid down tightly & the problem is fixed!! Sorry about the sheer wasted money associated with purchasing this Asian audio rubbish but I returned to purchasing off Amazon (USA) as against using Ali-Ex, Temu etc & using a known brand name & guess what?? "Voila" (French) my problems disappearded with immediate effect!! I duly instigated all the heat removal effects I could (I'm a certified computer tech) & my latest heap of junk looks more like the insides of a computer with 3 cooling fans of various sizes as well as heat sinks, heat trasnsfer pads & paste etc, etc & this still didn't rectify the problem. It helped but didn't fix it!! These pathetic Chinese units may well have all the bells & whilstles but not everything works & therefore as described above they are in effect mere & utter junk rubbish!! Don' waste your time & especially your money on this Asian shit & instead buy & pay the extra for a name branded unit. Yeah it'll cost a bit more for sure but you'll appreciate that factor from the moment you install the unit & unlike myself, you won't be installing & removing head units all the bloody time!! I reckon I can remove my unit blind folded now & do it within about 3 minutes but that factor is nothing to be proud of for sure!! Final word, leave those Chinese head units on the shelf where they are best left for mere viewing purposes only!! Seriously you have indeed been duly warned!!

    Ah my headunit just stopped working 💔. It was perfect. Had carplay and the audio was amazing. Had a reverse camera and now it just stopped working. I spoke to someone and they said its most likely to have overheated. If its overheated, is there anyway to fix it?

  • @brendonrutherford5118
    @brendonrutherford51183 ай бұрын

    Yeah there is a simple method to fix this problem!! Respectfully throw it away & buy a proper unit!! It's an overheating problem alright & caused by piss-poor design & a lack of proper bench testing in the lab & most Asian head units & especially the cheaper ones really are prone to this problem!! Adding heat sinks & cooling fans won't always rectify the problem & who knows that better than me!! (yeah right) You should not need to add heat sinks, cooling fans etc after having just purchased a new head unit as they should be built-into the system in the first place!! Sorry this is a first class indication of typical rubbish Asian shit!! Simply put, if you don't want overheating problems don't buy this Asian crap & I've honestly got 3 of these units (brand new) & they are all shit. Respectfully you have been warned!! My car has had no radio unit in it since before Xmas (2023) & I'm still trying to work something out but I do have three (3) head units that are sheer & utter rubbish honestly & all with the same overheating problem!! Good luck with your current unit!!

    Did the heatsink outside the unit alone fix the overheating issue, or did you have to install something else or additional heatsinks?

  • @Jase777jase
    @Jase777jase5 ай бұрын

    Hi there, yes, just the external heatsink did the job. I didn’t need to do anything more. If the back of the stereo is very warm/hot, and if you mount a heatsink in this way, and then if the heatsink itself is warm or very warm during use, you can be pretty sure it will fix any heat related issues. I hope this helps and thanks for your comment. J.

  • @Jase777jase
    @Jase777jase7 ай бұрын

    Hi there and thanks for your comment. The beauty of that cable is that it has a ground at both ends, so as long as your RCA video cable is plugged in to the head unit, it’s already grounded, so there’s no need to ground at the other end where you connect to the reversing light. hope that helps. I decided to cut and run the wire because it was thinner; now, I bought a new P2 power cable. Can I just cut it too and splice it to my old one? I saw that there are 3 wires. Or do you suggest to repair with a new plug?

    Great video. Thanks for taking the time to make it. Question. I want to fit a reversing camera (5 inch folding monitor) and reversing sensors. New vehicle. If I take live connection from reversing light is it best to take this feed through a relay, don’t want to blow fuse. Also. Modern cars have systems that detect bulb failure. I don’t know if this includes reversing light bulb. If so. Would taking supplies from the reversing light affect this.

    I didn't even think about needing to use a relay for this! I've checked the specs of this particular relay and see that energising the coil at 12V takes 30mA of power. I have a camera with no special lights on it, and its consumption is listed as 45mA so I guess the question is how many mA is too many? Perhaps it's best to use a transistor to supply the power instead?

  • @Jase777jase
    @Jase777jase9 ай бұрын

    Hi there Phillip and thanks for your comment. That’s very interesting. I didn’t, off hand, know the energising current of that relay, and I don’t know the current draw of my camera, but the lights are pretty bright. They provide more light than the actual reversing light of the car, but that is pretty woeful, so that’s not saying much. So I would imagine the draw of my camera is a fair but higher. As you say, how much is too much. All I can say is that I believe anecdotal/real-world experience counts for a lot, and I’ve never had a problem since fitting the relay. Also, I believe there is a company selling this as a solution, ie. a relay with wiring loom etc, so others have thought of this way of doing it. That being said, I think their product is also there to stop interference. Yes, a transistor might be a better way to go. If you do decide to go down that route, I’d be interested to see a schematic. 😀 Many thanks for an interesting comment. J.

    @@Jase777jase I decided to do what the manual for my head unit said to do which was to connect the power for the camera through the ACC line on the head unit itself. I presume this is because without this, that particular head unit wouldn't be able to show the camera unless the car was also in reverse.
