The Olympic probably would’ve rescued some of the Titanic’s if it weren’t for Harold Cottam staying up later than usual and just wearing his headphones while on no official duty at all, just in the process of getting undressed for bed before shutting the radio room down when he just accidentally heard the Titanic’s distress call. The Olympic was about 110 miles away from the Titanic’s location when the Carpathia picked up the last of the Titanic’s survivors, still no other ships had reached the Titanic’s location yet, and the lifeboats had split up and were scattered around the iceberg fields which is why it took the Carpathia 4 and a half hours to find and pull aboard every one of the survivors following her finding the first lifeboat. I imagine that without the Carpathia’s help, the Olympic probably would’ve reached the Titanic’s location while the other rescue ships were finding and pulling aboard the survivors and would’ve joined them in doing it.

If it happened the survival rate would increase meaning 755/750 people would be much more and if some boat or ship saw this the stern would be quickly pulled by a tug boat to safety or the passengers ride a ship while titanics stern gets pulled to safety

Big issue is they would NOT have sent the Olympic. The idea of sending a ship that was the spitting image of Titanic would've been a PR disaster and many would've refused to board.

Wow the space update really killed this game. I fired up my old Amphibious Mobile Nuclear Base build and died to pressure due to the gases update that messed up the bilge pumps... they really screwed this game up.

If it was reborn it’s would have been put in a museum and would have almost become a hotel ship and museum ship at the same time.

theirs a lot of what ifs about titanic out their but what happened happened and its unrealistic to assume it couldve stayed afloat i saw someone say well if the engines fell out well even if they had that would’ve caused more damage when it split its ripped shell plating off destroyed the ships Skelton and superstructure leave so many places for water and the ship split in one part and cracked in another which is why a section of titanic is gone today the only way it couldve stayed afloat would be if it had been a clean cut that would be boarder line impossible

My thought being if this did actually occur in the sequence you depict, Titanic would still be considered sunk and the stern would have just been incorporated/retrofitted into and become Britannic. I suppose it would just depend on how badly WSL wanted a 3rd running mate. Given the impending WWI, and assuming this Britannic survives, that probably doesn't happen until after the war. Perhaps they commission a 3rd running mate in the early 1920s, which becomes Majestic, which essentially becomes WSL's own Aquitania.

If the stern survived, it would have became a museum, somehow put into a museum, or part hotel part museum. Many more lives would have survived and it would have been the biggest event that would ever, ever happen in marine history. It will be said down from generation to generation.

The bottom of the ship was still connected after the split and it pulled the stern down with the 1st half.

Wait if the stern stayed afloat Thomas Andrews would have survived the sinking because he was last seen in the 1st class smoking room which was located on A Deck of the stern so therefore he would of survived

Honestly I see two ways of how this would end up 1. Her sturn would be towed to America *it was closer and thus less costly* and then put into dry dock to help with the investigations and trials that happened afterwards. Then would be put to be scrapped but then a heritage company would buy her instead and turn the sturn into a museum 2. (Same thing as the 1st up until the scraping part) She would have the extremely damaged parts removed and then dismantled to be brought back to Belfast where the material would be used to quickly finish her sister Brintanic allowing her to have a few months of being a passenger liner before WW1 after that it's either she sinks by a mine or is also turned into a troop ship like Olympic

Thomas Andrews himself stated that if the ship were broken up the individual compartments could still float, the only reason the stern went under was because it was pulled down by the bow.

There's so many what ifs, the important thing is that lessons have been learnt since Titanic sank 111 years ago and we are continuing to learn from the Titanic disaster. 🚢🪨🎆

When it was split in half, some of the boilers were underwater, so the stern wouldn’t survive bc of the water already in the boilers so, it would still sink

It would of been cool if this could of happened. But instead of being rebuilt seeing as that would be distasteful to those lost I think the stern should go to a museum.

I would see it as unlikely that they would rebuild the bow due to this sheer cost one instead, you can just preserve the stern as a piece of history

I'm sorry but this isn't plausible because the stern would have still sunk long before recovery efforts were made let alone the time the other ship took to get there so in the long run a good majority of the people on the ship would have still died especially with stern filling with water at a rapid pace

At 2:20 am on April 15th 1912 the front part of titanic sheared off and plunged to the bottom of the Atlantic. Incredibly the stern of the ship managed to stay afloat until help from Carpathia arrived at about 4:00 am. There were approximately 1500 people still onboard the stern section and about 705 people in the lifeboats all told Carpathia took 1600 people aboard while about 200-300 people were lost at sea most of them were crewmen. The stern of titanic was towed back to Belfast Ireland but was deemed damaged beyond repair. White star line decided to scrap the stern and salvaged as much material and equipment from the stern and afterwards decided to build a new Titanic with the original engines, 4th funnel, propellers and nameplate from the old ship. The new titanic would be relaunched in 1914 but with WW1 beginning the ship was outfitted as a troopship and ferried troops back and forth between England and Germany. After WW1 the new Titanic was once again used as a passenger ship throughout the 1920-30s but declining passenger numbers force the Titanic and Olympic into limited service carrying large amounts of cargo until 1938 when the ships were retired from commercial service they were both reused as troopships again during WW2. In June of 1942 both ships were on Convoy duty in the Atlantic and incredibly in the same area of its 1912 sinking it was torpedoed first by the German U-Boat U-153 and was severely damaged before another attack by the U-112 hit the Titanic with 3 torpedos. Fortunately the Olympic managed to pull along side and save the crew, American soldiers and Canadian soldiers in transit to England. The Titanic was then towed back to Halifax but was deemed unrepairable and scrapped.
