The Stairway to Heaven set with Heart knocked it out of the park. What energy. The rest didn't even need to show up. They got blown away. What an honor, and you could tell that Robert, Jimmy, and John were taken back and just speechless. Well done.

Heart took every ounce of energy of THE ALL-TIME ROCK COVER EVER!!! Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven". Nancy & Ann Wilson, Jason representing his dad, the musicians topped off by the choir. Beyond awesome. I was crying and laughing and reveling in being blown away along with the band and everyone there. I cannot count the # of times i have watched this cover. ❤❤❤

I was late teens when the Zeps emerged. I saw them live several times in their early daze. I immersed in their sounds, and was a lead guitarist in bands at that time also. The intro to Good Times / Bad Times is my favorite intro to any rock song, except You Really Got Me, by the Kinks.

You are so fortunate to have been able to see them live. Would you say they were the best band ever live? Or do you think another band was better?
@brahmburgers5 күн бұрын
@@annikapc Hi. ...among the best. One of the times was their 1st US tour, at Colombia MD. They were 2nd-billed! They opened for the Who, who did their entire Tommy rock opera. Page had a row of triangular shaped speaker cabinets, and stood with his head down, his long black hair covering his face. I was in the 2nd row middle, and almost got into the back-stage party after the gig, but my g.f. was missing, so I had to do the gentlemanly thing, and find her. Johnny Winter was also one of the most exciting performers I've seen, and have seen hundreds of top-billed acts. For pure sweetness and beauty, I'd vote Elizabeth Cotton (Freight Train). She was in her 90's when I saw her in a small church room, with about 20 others, sitting on folding chairs. Albert King is another of my favorites.
