I briefly listened to a part of this lecture and brother Sa'eed needs to more precise in the things he's saying. For example, he claimed that the aqeedah of the Asharis - when mentioning the story of Al-Juwayni - is that they believe Allah is everywhere, and this is not correct. This is not the official aqeedah of the later Asharis, in fact they are quite adamant in opposing that as is clear in some of their books. The creed of the later Asharis is the claim that Allah exists without a place, not that he is in every place. Yes, there may be some laymen Asharis who may claim that Allah is everywhere, but this is not an official creed proclaimed by the Ashari sect, as the brother made it seem. It's important to be accurate in attributing and understanding the creeds of the various sects. Also, the story of Al-Hamadani is much different from what the brother mentioned. Al-Hamadani used as a proof for the highness of Allah the necessity we find in our hearts to turn with our hearts to the heavens during dua', it wasn't about looking down or up. Also, Abu Ja'far Al-Hamadani was in fact a scholar and not a layman as the brother mentioned. Also, the principle is "الأمر بالشيء نهي عن ضده" not "النهي عن الشيء نهي عن ضده". - Nader

He was speaking in general because a lot of Asharis especially the latter do believe that Allah is everywhere. This is in their books as Shaykh Iman Al-Jami stated. The argument that Abu Ja'far Al-Hamadani isn't a scholar is valid because he didn't repent until the end of his life.

The brother clearly said, "He [Al-Juwayni] was trying to establish the aqeedah of the asha'irah, that Allah is not above his creation, because the aqeedah, the asha'irah they say Allah is everywhere". And this isn't correct, rather the asha'arah falsely believe that Allah exists without a place. If you have references from from the official books of the asharis that indicate otherwise, please provide them جزاك الله خيرا 2. Even though he had some sufism, I have never seen anyone describe Al-hafidh Abu Ja'far Al-hamadani as a layman, nor dismiss him completely in the way you just did. Ibn Taymiyyah described as "الشيخ العارف". Al-Dhahabi says in Siyar Al-A'laam: "الشيخ الإمام الحافظ" . Al-Albani said when he mentioned the story: "إسناد هذه القصة صحيح مسلسل بالحفاظ" So the scholars of hadeeth describe him as being a trustworthy narrator of hadeeth, not as a layman. Also dismissing him as a common layman gives legitimacy and credibility to the the Asharis who attack the isnad of this story and dismiss it. بارك الله فيك

Good reminder ! I like how the prohibitions were pointed out. And to be upon istaqama is not to say. Insha Allah. The prohibition for the Salafee’s in the USA? Are still separated! The comment of the one who claimed following Imam Hanafee! Was just a claim it was actually a innovative way. If we don’t cling the sunnah with the understanding of the salaf it’s not the sunnah. If one makes a mistake is the honor up held and the mistake clarified? He ended great with towba because humans make mistakes! We appreciate reminders there from Allah. But statements of the heart actions of the heart and you know what I am hinting on , so we know the rest. Where’s actions ? Allah help us. Amin
