Seeking Contentment

Seeking Contentment

We are disciples of The Way, protectors of 3 children, truth seekers, skill learners, history lovers, budget keepers, music enjoyers, and students of the old ways, who live a simple life, having learned a lot throughout our 23 years of marriage. This is our platform to share what we have learned and are learning.

When thinking about the direction of this channel, we asked ourselves, what could our children gather from our lives, say, if one day they should happen to walk down some of the same roads that we once travelled? And why not extend our experiences to our viewers also? We want this to be a place to come & glean according to what is relevant & relatable to the viewer. Our prayer is that this channel will be a helpful tool & valuable resource that brings glory to our Heavenly Father, because only through Him, "I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content." Philippians 4:11

    Well that's nice to hear! Yes, I started this channel back near the end of 2019 and then life got very busy for our family, so I placed my channel on hold for a few years until around December, a year ago. Then I began posting sporadically here and there. Then the LORD opened up a season in my life that I could begin slowly again earlier this year! Now I am happy to have David with me! I didn't think I would ever want to get back into posting again, as it takes up quite a bit of time, and opens up your life for everyone to see, but the LORD opened the door and through this channel, we have been very blessed by this community. Blessings to you and your family and thank you for being a part of it!

    Struggling to stay strong in those convictions…I can relate so much to that cuz I was also the first in the marriage to come to Christ and what a circus that was lol But all worth it. I remember us both apologizing to each other for like a week straight for all the stuff we put each other through before we found Christ. Forgiveness, cuz we were both fallen 💞 It is very confusing yes when other Christian’s say “oh it’s ok to do this and that”. But I can’t shake those convictions. I hope and pray you both grow stronger and that I stay strong in my convictions as well. God bless you and your family.

Standing steadfast in the Lord with the convictions He gives, especially when no one else is with you, is difficult, but praise God, He is our strength and our help and will uphold us with his right hand. (Isaiah 41:10).

    Good day brothers in faith. What are your thoughts on Catholicism?

  • @seekingcontentment
    @seekingcontentment6 күн бұрын

    Hello, Thank you for your question. This channel really isn’t about these type of discussions, but I will try to give you a very brief summary on my thoughts on catholicism. On a side note, my grandfather was a very devout Catholic. It is a man made religion with man centered rules that stems from Rome. There are many Bible verses that contradict the Catholic teachings. Here is an example: 1 Timothy 2:5-6 “5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.” This proves you do not need to confess your sins to a priest. “John 14:6 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” No need for a Pope or priest. Like other man centered religions it’s based on works and is not Biblical based and waters down who Jesus actually is. I won’t get into the worship of Mary and the saints. (Idol worship). I hope this answered your question. Be blessed!

    @@seekingcontentment I just wanna begin by saying that both of you are making a very Good job with your children, I found this channel seeing your daughter’s first. If it’s possible, I would like to know why for you it’s a man made religion. With the confession, it is my understanding that it’s not made to the priest, but to Christ through the priest, because they are anointed; they are just the means, not the ones that forgive you. The need of pope and priests I suppose is debatable, beacuse if by some way, all lof them disappear, we as christians (in the same hypothetical case) are still here, with teachings and some parto f the truth revealed. But in contrast, even you, I assume, go to a church to hear someone speaking about the teachings of Christ, and your children also take advantage of you to learn; I understand that the difference is the act and preparation that made a priest anointed, and the pope is just a man which job is to safeguard the truth, not to invented it. why Waters down who Jesus actually is? I’m curious The parto f the idol worship is totally comprehensible, but at the same time delicate. Throught the differences between christians, it’s bad seeing Catholics as pagan sor worse. Images and statues could be idols, if you pray to them, but for catholics this are just that, images; like one step more to concéntrate at the moment of praying, or to make a public statement that in a certain location, the ones there are christians. Some images have a Deep power (not magic or totems or something like that) like the Virgin of Guadalupe in Mexico. It resisted a bomb that damage the temple, and was able to whithstand another attack with acid. Those kind of physical figures are relics, but still, not idols… Like putting a statue of Christ to commemorate him, but not to pray directly to the statue. If the whole vatican as a city is destroy, the church is still alive. Is always Good to conversate with other Christian brothers politely, thanks for that. God be with you and your family.

    We appreciate your kind words towards us. It is only though Christ that we are who we are. He has been very kind to our family and we are thankful. I honestly do not want to get into a deep discussion about this, as whether Catholic, Protestant, whatever one claims to be, our advice and how we have learned is always by going to Scripture and leaning on the Holy Spirit to guide us to the correct understanding. I would advise you not to go to any person (myself of otherwise) for advice or direction, but to go straight to the Heavenly Father in prayer. 1 John 2:24-27 "24 Let therefore abide in you that same which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning, shall remain in you, ye shall also continue in the Son, and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even that eternal life. 26 These things have I written unto you, concerning them that deceive you. 27 But that anointing which ye received of him, dwelleth in you: and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and it is true and is not lying, and as it taught you, ye shall abide in him." We, who are in Christ and have the Holy Spirit abiding within us, do not need a teacher, or a mediator, we have the Holy Spirit. You had mentioned "But in contrast, even you, I assume, go to a church to hear someone speaking about the teachings of Christ,". Did you happen to watch the video? We do not go to a church, nor do we learn under a man. We read the Bible and ask the LORD for guidance in our understanding of the Scriptures. We have all we need, praise GOD. Should we decide to listen to someone give their thoughts on any topic (secular or spiritual), okay, but they are not our leaders and we do not need them to teach us. And yes, of course, because I am my children's earthly father, I am the one who the LORD has placed over my home. They learn under my authority, as with anything. But this does not in any way mean that they couldn't learn things on their own (again, secular or spiritual). I again thank you for the kind words you left us. We are blessed by the LORD that each of our children have chose to use their lives in obedience to our Heavenly Father. God bless you and I hope that you and yours have a wonderful day in the Lord.

For those that want to see it: Galatians 6:7 (KJV) “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” God is loving and indeed, is love. He is also just and His glory demands justice. All sin will be answered for and punished to accordingly in the lake of fire where those without Christ will experience the second death; the destruction of their very soul.

    Based on what I have heard, many a times, if not always, s9tanic rituals are performed during high profile sport games. Unbeknownst to the audience. And anyone who watches those "performances", even if they are watching it only as spectators, are participating in that s..... ritual. So many people say, I have never participated in one of those rituals but the answer is, most likely. you have, just as a spectator. You can participate as an actor or as a spectator. Why do they perform those rituals in front of the masses and want the participation of the nations? Because each time one of those rituals are performed, the veil of darkness that covers the earth becomes darker and stronger. Matthew 5:8 says, "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see GOD." Much love and peace to you Brother and Yours. Thank you for sharing this information.

    I grew up in the modern LDS corp. and that church teaches its members so convincingly that whatever the 'Prophet' (the President of the church) says is true. No matter how crazy whatever they say sounds, it's true... no questions asked. They teach that even if they tell you to do something wrong, if you do it, you will be blessed... BUT... the 'Prophet' will never tell you to do something wrong, so do it. They even teach that if the 'Prophet' teaches something that goes against scripture, go with what he says. This is a prime characteristic of a cult. Praise God that He woke us up, and taught us to not put our trust in the arm of flesh, but in Him! "Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. . . . Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is." (Jeremiah 17:5, 7) Even the Book of Mormon, ironically, touches on that subject more emphatically.
