    Wow I think we have the same two birds Maverick my son I’ve had for about a year and a half is exactly the same. If I move my leg off the couch he knows I’m about to walk out these corks when I walk in he has an outside cage of the rooms I put him out there occasionally and I’ll squawk when he hears me before that was completely different but I did notice you clip. The wings of Marlow Maverick can fly which makes me think. Maybe I should flip his wings again so then he can be outside with me. I did like that, got a harness on him but only lasted once he won’t go anywhere near it now The is with me quiet frustrates me when he’s standing right in front of me and squawking which is a pee because he is amazing little bird when he crawls in and cuddles and his pats,😊

    How do you tell male from female conjures? What friend can you get for conure?

  • @AaronLewisOfficial
    @AaronLewisOfficial3 ай бұрын

    The only way to truely tell is getting them DNA sexed, Conures are very bossy birds and even putting another Conure in with them can end badly. I would suggest buying a separate cage and another Conure and slowly bonding them with eachother!

    If she still hates the groomer, you could buy clippers and teach yourself how to do it? I used to clip my standard poodle most of the time (with wahl clippers) only going to the groomers if we were going somewhere really special.

    Hey... Thinking about getting GCC😂... You said you clean the bottom of the cage I mean the newspaper once a month is that right.. doesn't it smell with all the poop, is it healthy for the bird to leave it there a month? How to prevent bird from pooping over you and on the table, keyboards etc? Nice job! Also why the sheet cover at the bottom half? Does he sprinkle food? Does he make noise during sleeping time of 10 hours? Tia

  • @AaronLewisOfficial
    @AaronLewisOfficial4 ай бұрын

    Hello! Sorry about that I must have mis worded that bit, I change the newspaper weekly and do spot cleans throughout to help keep it a bit cleaner. You cant really prevent a bird from pooping anywhere, as when they need to go they just release it. Occasionally a bird will learn to only poop on their play stand or in their cage but that's rare. I had that around the base to try and keep food in the cage instead of all over the floor but sadly it didn't really help. My Conure stays relatively quiet during sleep time, occasionally he will let out a noise or grind his beak but apart from that he's quiet! All round I think GCC are an amazing little bird and I think you'd have lots of fun with them it, just make sure you have a good size cage with lots of toys and enrichment in there for it. Hope that helps!

    Hi Aaron, Karla here like you attempting to learn how to groom my tiny toy poodle at home. Phoebe is a bit darker red than Scarlet. Thank you for coming on and sharing. Would be great if I was able to see you doing her face, but that’s the easy part right? lol. I cannot get down doing Phoebes Top Knot. It’s crazy I just can’t get it right. You’re doing a great job Aaron. I just stopped after doing Phoebes feet and body. Praying tomorrow will go better doing her face and tummy and scissoring to finish her off. I just could not afford my Groomer as she goes way up in price every 6 months. Thank you again sweetie

    Ive had a sun conure for 16 years but still watch video's like this. They are smart, affectionate, and beautiful pets. The only downside is that they are loud and willing to bite in order to communicate. When I was 8, my parents bought me one with a care book. Honestly, they need a lot more research than an outdated book can give.

    Cockatiels are “old world parrots” and Conures are “New world parrots” based on the regions they are native to. Old world parrots are the ones that produce feather “dust” Cockatoos are another example of this. New world parrots don’t have this trait and are not dusty. The feather dust from old world parrots can also be dangerous to breathe by other birds, especially new world parrots so they should not be kept together or play together too much. Therefore I would not let your Sun Conure be around your cockatiel too much.

    Hi, I love your videos & you give such helpful advice! Your bird stand is awesome! I have two budgies, and I have a similar stand for them and they absolutely love it! So I have a 12 gallon betta sorority tank with 5 females. It’s a natural set up with Driftwood and live plants. I was wondering if you could give me tips on aggression. They are doing well together, but there is some fin nipping & they do pick on one female in particular. In your betta sorority video You said you got a male to help with the aggression do you suggest I do that? Hopefully, I will be switching my sorority to a 32 gallon tank pretty soon! We have extra tanks because we also have salt water tanks with stingrays & sharks! Thank you so much 😊

  • @AaronLewisOfficial
    @AaronLewisOfficial5 ай бұрын

    I’d recommend adding a Short Fin Male Fight Fish in there, it helped dial down the aggression when I had a Sorority and maybe add even more live plants in there to provide extra coverage!

    Thanks for sharing. It's given me some ideas for my birds. 🦜 I have a table top stand similar to your java wood stand. To make it a bit more interesting, & because my birds like chewing wood & eating flowers, I use cable ties to attach branches from bottle brush bushes & gum trees on it. They love it, & it keeps them occupied.
