    That is not a geothermal system. It is a ground based heat pump, it uses the heat stored from the sun. Geothermal is using the heat radiating from the earth core and for to use that you have to drill deep.

    is the earth warm or cold??? i don't understand this. in the winter it's hot, in the summer it's cold. i want my house at 67 degrees at all times. if the earth isn't 67 degrees, how is it doing both heating and cooling to the desired temp???

    Basically magic, but heat pumps actually exist and they work. Basically, because the ground isn't Zero Kelvin (-459.67 ℉) there is heat to extract. We don't have to technology to extract heat all the way down to absolute zero but we can do it down to what temperatures below which water freezes. Cold isn't a thing, it's the absence of a thing (heat). Heat pumps just move the heat up and down using the phase change of a refrigerant under difference pressures. an internet search will lead you to plenty more information if you'd like it.

    This was an exact replacement for the old one that lasted about 10 years. kzread.infoUgkx7yWIKcrbA9KMHkGSfcgxW2lsjHT6B8Sh The top of my mitigation tube by my roofline was just a 90 elbow which allowed too much debris to fall down into the fan, eventually ruining it. Without this issue, I bet it would have kept running another 10 years. When I replaced this fan, I added an extra elbow joint so the top tube now it does a 180, which should solve that problem. The radon guys around here wanted to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee, then parts/labor (probably close to $600 total). I installed this all by myself in about an hour for the cost of the fan; it would probably be even easier/faster with two people. FYI the manufacturer's warranty greatly differs depending on whether you install it yourself (1 yr warranty) or have a licensed installer do it (10 yrs).

    Thermostat works fine. App functionality is HOT GARBAGE. "No response from device" is not a phrase I ever want to read again. The rating of the app on the Google app store is a joke and has been for a long time. WHEN WILL BOSCH LISTEN TO US?!?!

    HOT GARBAGE. Not sure if it's the app or the thermostat or both, but either way the end user experience is HOT GARBAGE. The heat pumps themselves work great and as expected, but this app and/or thermostat are a joke. "No response from device" is not a phrase I ever want to read again. Do better Bosch!!

    My BCC100 thermostat wifi connectivity has been marginal since installation. Every time the app tries to connect, the thermostat disconnects. It will work for a day, & then take a day off. Never had this problem with my nest thermostat.

    I just bought the 4 gallon model. Love it! The thing I’m wondering about is this pressure release valve. Are we supposed to do anything with it? Are we supposed to put a pipe drain in it? Are we supposed to release pressure periodically? I have reviewed the manual and searched online and cannot find anything on it. Is it automatic and we don’t have to worry about it?

    WHY is Bosch showing PVC pipes used to vent exhaust from their boiler??? Yikes. PVC pipes are only approved for temperatures up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The C in PVC is Chloride, PVC pipes start to emit dangerous gasses at 158 degrees Fahrenheit. Exhaust from boilers can exceed 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, the PVC pipes will start to degrade, turn color, and fail. How does Bosch not know this???

  • @jonathangostkowski7198
    @jonathangostkowski71988 ай бұрын

    It’s called a condensing boiler. Exhaust temp doesn’t exceed 125 typically.

    Still blows my mind that a manufacturer tries to make a purchase complex??....If you have a water well, you are golden..... Blah Blah Blah the slinky loops have to be this deep or this long, OR you have to drill this many loops for it to work? It's all BS....think about it for a moment. I have to go this deep to get this degree water temp year round? Water wells typically deliver VERY consistent temps, and are much deeper than any slinky loop....and the bored holes loops are extremely inefficient.....bad news for WSHP. If you have a water well, have the water tested for mineral content . If the content is above norms, install a brazed plate heat exchanger to isolate the Geo unit's own coaxial exchanger, and run only mineral free distilled water into the unit. Requires a small Taco pump which is very easy to install.... Going on 20 years with this tech in 2 houses, both installed by me....(retired irrigation contractor....zero HVAC training). As a giggle, Duke Energy has swapped out the power meter 3 times in the first house, sure I was cheating!!
