Hopefully all the money raised from people coming should get the level crossing paid for and get the full line running again
How does this channel get better and better honestly its wonderful!
Very stirring film ! You're a very dedicated lot and I'll look forward to going back to Cleethorpes soon 😉 !
Nice trailer
Is no5 diesel
Yes, she is a modified Severn Lamb Rio Grande Steam Outline Diesel.
Well that’s one way to deliver a barrel of beer 😊
Really cool! Nice to CLR have now got a youtube channel nice to keep up to date with the place as i live in Derby come probably 4 times a year so really nice to be updated haha!
He was guarding the service i was on today (22/06/2024 Really good person thanks for the Kind service good sir!
Beer travels well by train ! 🚂🍺 Great dramatic film . Who thinks them up !? Made me smile ! 😁
I would love to see Bonnie Dundee visit RH&DR like it did in 1998.
Hoping you're able to return trains to the extension to Humberston at some point.
Best duo of all time da1 and Rachel
Lovely engine, but shame about the music. Whoever stands watching steam engines with music blaring in their ears?
These locos look soo cute! Shame no complete units survive..
Da1 has had an interesting career . Thanks for the history lesson Dylan . The last film of the loco in the present day is wonderful though and the blue livery and lettering very classy . 😊
I don't see why there can't be electric auxiliary locos/tenders for steam locos nowadays
The 80s, as dreadful looking as ever
A modern battery tender wouldn't be such a bad idea now 🤔
Is this a 15 inch gauge railway?
yes, we've been a 15 inch gauge railway since 1994 after a re-gauge from 14 1/4 inch gauge. we were originally a 10 1/4 inch gauge railway from 1948 to 1971 when it became 14 1/4 inch
Any update on the other half of the railway that has been closed?
Hi there Hunter, sadly no news at this moment in time.
@@CleethorpesCoastLightRailway How come it even closed? Shame not going to lie
Does anyone have any archive footage of No.24 visiting RH&DR by any chance.
Hi Geoffrey, we'll look in our archives but if you find any, let us know :)
Very good footage indeed. It will be nice to see Mannertreu running again asap.
I'm here right now! 😊
Lovely footage - great to see the 1991 gala with 24, Sydney, River Irt, and Mannertreu! I've never seen video of Tracy-Jo in it's red colour & petrol guise. Also never knew there was a shed at the end of the headshunt back then. (P.S. it would have been even lovelier if it had been digitised more carefully. The comb artifacts and the frame rate of this video being 30 both suggest to me that it should be interpreted as interlaced footage so that the video editing software knows to properly de-interlace it, and after that render it at the correct frame rate of 50fps.)
will it be ready for the summer steam special???
Im afraid not, there is a lot of work to do on Effie at this moment in time, not only on her boiler but on her valve gear too. we will post more updates in the future about effie and our other projects too.
Thanks
How lovely to see her running 75 years later.
Is the track your working on the track to Humberston?
I'm afraid not at the moment in time, its the track between our Kingsway and Lakeside stations.
Ah ye hopefully it goes there again one day but still an amazing railway
Excellent documentary. Sad that none of the four survive. It was strange to see the way they were "stored" in a haphazard pile in the 1970s before being offered for sale. I have to assume from the way they are stacked, or just thrown on top of each other in that photo, that the locomotives pictured are just the body shells and had been separated from their frames, motors, and wheels. Pictures like that tell a story I can personally relate to. I am located in the USA. I have a somewhat similar looking streamlined locomotive body shell, with a storied amusement park history, that I am hoping to restore to operation one day. About the same size - mine is 30" wide, about 30" tall, and 10 feet long. Built circa 1951. Was 16 inch gauge originally. Anyway, my shell has a huge inward arching dent at the center of one side of the body. Looking at the "stored" equipment photo in this video gives me an idea of how that damage probably occurred. Keep up the great videos.
Great video! Appreciated all the details like dimensions and the timeline. As a fan of historic miniature locomotives, I find it sad when they are rebuilt to resemble full-size narrow gauge motive power. It’s a personal aesthetic choice. I love tiny gauge engine’s with full cabs too, but scale miniature locomotives have a distinct magic that is all their own.
Will the full line be open this year?
Great video Dylan! 👏
WHY ARE THEY CUTE😭😭
Thanks Dylan . Good trackwork !! See you soon on the CCLR 😊
Interesting. So,... based on Rio Grande C-16 locomotives, eh? My latest video is on when I visited an ACTUAL C-16 of the Rio Grande, on display in Cimarron Canyon, Colorado. Please have a look and compare 😉
@ThatBIGTRAINGuy Hope you enjoyed the video about our Rio Grande locomotives, We've watched your video and its rather strange seeing a C-16 sat in the middle of of a canyon but at least it show where it would have once run back in the days of service.
@@CleethorpesCoastLightRailway Yes, very interesting. Anything Rio Grande catches my attention 😂. Thanks for watching mine. Yeah, it's a bit of a different display to most, but nice to see.
Really interesting video, it’s a good example of how much miniature locomotives can change during their lifetimes, often ending up looking completely different compared to originally built
Fabulous.😊
There's so much more to this railway I don't know about . Great to learn about the Rio's . Thanks Dylan 😊 !
Wonderful film . Battery locos past the boating lake . There's some memories . 😉
Will you also be redoing the track of the section of the line that runs to North Sea Lane
I am afraid not at this moment in time
Doing a great job !! Can't wait to be back on the CCLR 😊 !!
When do you plan to reopen?
Great dedication !! Have a great 2024 CCLR . See you again soon 😊 !!
A great mix of bouncy music and rhythmic machine in dual motion.
Very sad ending, things are never missed until they are destroyed.
At last they could be replicated if given the time and money. The cab ends are preserved so they can be used to make molds.
Promo-SM 😆
It had a happy ending 😊
The others were scrapped so sad and the rolling stock 😔
It's Reliant Robin not the other way round .
I remember this period. I was a railway mad child and always went on it when we came to Cleethorpes from Sheffield for the day. I always wondered what happened to them.
Absolutely fascinating Dylan, and so well made. Thanks for all of your hard work.
