Abiezz…THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!! I was about to have a breakdown when my Treg would not shift into gear after starting. To help someone else in the future I will point out the specifics to my Treg. First, I am the original owner of a 2008 v8, which currently has only 81k miles 😇 (but, I digress) … with DVD Nav (without DynaAudio), front climate control only, moonroof, no adjustable suspension but I do have the factory tow package. My car has ALWAYS started on first try, but with the current issue the starter didn’t even try to turn on first turn of the key…it took a second turn to start the engine. When the engine started, the battery warning appeared in the upper right of the speedometer, the ABS and traction control warnings appeared in the upper center of the tachometer; these warning lights remained constant until the ignition was shut off. While your harness group had 4 spliced connections - mine had only 3 (the large black 4-wire group, a pair of thin black wires, and a pair of brown wires with a red stripe). Perhaps the fourth splicing on your Treg was for the adjustable suspension or another option mine does not have. The wires that were completely eroded in mine were the brown with red stripe; all remaining wires in the other splices were bright and shiny as if new. Why VW chose electrical tape over a wiring connector, harness or hey-what about no splice AT ALL?, is beyond my understanding. But, I guess I should just be happy you were there to provide the fix for me! 👍👍👍👍👍 Does anyone know WHY or HOW water got into this space? I did notice you mentioned that you ‘pushed’ your plug in the floor through. I used a ver small flat bladed screwdriver to pierce the caulking seal around the plug and then used a thin clip remover tool to pry the plug up out of the hole without damaging it. I did have to peel the adhesive seal from both the plug and the hole in the floor afterwards. While I am thinking to myself: if the plug wasn’t in the hole the water would have drained without submersing and subsequently eroding these wires, I guess the hole in the floor was put there for some known reason which would cause water to pool here. If it is known though, why not fix the cause of the water getting into the cabin in the first place. I did have a problem about 5 years ago with one of the roof drains getting plugged up with insects and dust, which caused a sloshing sound inside the passenger rear quarter panel when the car would accelerate fast or come to a moderate stop. Maybe I have a clogged front roof drain…perhaps in the A-pillars? I don’t know right now, but it is almost 90 degrees outside and I am not able to continue working outside in that heat. Kudos to you AND your dirty nails!!! Hey…just kidding, you were working on your car; dirty nails come with the territory! Thanks again…You ROCK! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi bro! Wow! Well done finding the corroded fuse! Great diagnostic work. Did you change out the inverter ECU you showed for a new one? I suspect that if the original ECU was faulty that could have been the cause for the HV battery explosions. That little fuse is on the voltage sensing line for the 12 volt battery... With it being corroded, that just meant the inverter converter (HV) ECU wasn't getting the voltage reading from the 12 volt battery directly... When that happens, the DTCs are generated and warning lights displayed etc but the DC to DC converter defaults to a stable safe voltage and nothing is adversely affected. At least if everything else is working correctly. I guess it's possible that there was some damage caused to the ECU though. If not from the corroded fuse then from something else. I think it's quite possible it was from something else but who knows... Anyway good job. I always caution people to be very extra careful with those HV batteries by the way though. Most people seem to not realize how dangerous they actually are. I'm not saying this applies to you, but I warn everyone. They are super dangerous! Take care friend

Nice. Thanks. I hated these at first. They look better today. The interior seems to be holding up very well for being so cheaply furnished. Looks like it's getting the job done. 17 years on the road? That's not too shabby.

Gotta calibrate that IMU & Compass and that 3T won’t move in hover. Seems a bit off balance. Give it a try and follow IMU calibration exact, on level SOIL/ground with arms folded in. Night & Day difference.
