    Fits perfectly rear-facing in our truck, which has a slightly smaller back seats. kzread.infoUgkx6_FKRYB2ClSPRyjcd8HptiCS3EiQoNX4 Feels as comfy and plush as our Graco Contender carseat.

    I was hesitant to purchase an open box carseat but it came in excellent condition and saved $35. Box was damaged as stated before I purchased it, but the kzread.infoUgkxIxQe7nPH74g_xtI5NgiE9-zpGNkfgovw car seat looks brand new and I don't think it was ever used. I will update of course if I have any issues with this carseat but I don't think I will. Also it is surprisingly lightweight, the handle feels secure unlike my previous EvenFlo that was gifted to us. Love it !

    My son is 1 years old and his size is the size of a big toddler he’s just 15 months is it ok if he start front facing seat cause he out grew the other one I’m just not sure cause I wanna make sure it’s time if they get to big for the other one

    he still needs to rear face until 3. it may look uncomfortable with him rear facing because of his legs bending on the seats but he's comfortable babies can bend all kind of ways. It's not a good Idea for him to be forward facing becuase in an accident his spine could be severed from impact. It's better for him to broken legs rear facing than a broken spine forward facing.

    You said 1 inch movement where the seatbelt is attached, but what about their head area of the car seat itself. When we pull that back-and-forth, it moves a lot. The bottom of the seat also shifts a few inches at the opposite end from seat belt. Is this ok? Thanks!

  • @dcmckidsincars1365
    @dcmckidsincars13652 жыл бұрын

    Yes, the seat will likely be able to move if you push/pull on it at the head (top) of the seat. You are basically creating a big lever so it will move easily. We want less than one inch of movement where the seatbelt (or lower anchor strap) runs through the belt path. Grab hold of the seat at this location on both sides of the seat. Push/pull side to side and front to back. If it moves more than 1", apply pressure to the seat and tighten.

    Can the back of this car seat touch the back of the passenger seat? I’ve looked through the manual and didn’t find anything.

  • @stewartwilliams19
    @stewartwilliams193 жыл бұрын

    Typically this is acceptable. We do like to see clearance between the rear of the seat and the car seat. However, there are times these may touch. It is acceptable as long as the vehicle seat back does not push into the car seat and distort the angle.

    Great Video. I also wonder how to loosen the strap/uninstall the seat. Thanks!

  • @stewartwilliams19
    @stewartwilliams193 жыл бұрын

    Basically, just follow the steps in reverse order. Add some weight/pressure to the seat to take the tension off the seatbelt or Lower anchors. Then detach. Some lower anchors will have a device on them that you flip over to loosen, some will have a button you push to loosen the webbing, check you car seat manual to be sure.

    If using a pool noodle/rolled towel, does the foot need to be touching the base of the seat and then the roll under the foot?

  • @dcmckidsincars1365
    @dcmckidsincars13653 жыл бұрын

    Hello! If you look at 6:53, you can see the pool noodle is under the foot of the car seat.This would be the same position as the towel roll.

  • @stewartwilliams19
    @stewartwilliams193 жыл бұрын

    This is dependent on the car seat manufacturers instruction. Some say the drop foot must be fully collapsed if using a rolled towel or noodle. Others allow for both. Check your manual or call the manufactures customer service line. However, in theory, you are correct. The rolled towel or noodle is placed in the bite (where the vehicle seat back meets the vehicle seat bottom) of the vehicle seat. The carrier base is then placed on top of the towel/noodle. Install as instructed with downward pressure and locking the seat belt or lower anchors. The seat should rest at a 35 to 45 degree angle recline (see the angle indicator on your seat). The car seat should not move more than one inch front to back or side to side when tested at the belt path.

  • @stewartwilliams19

    Usually there are storage locations on the seat that the lower anchor connectors are stowed. Check your manual as it will likely tell you where they are placed when not used. If it does not, you can remove the lower anchors completely or just stow them as best you can as long as they don’t interfere with the seat belt system.

    We recommend keeping your child rear-facing until age two as it is much safer and the car seat provides a lot more support to your child's head, neck, and spine during a crash. Best practice is to keep the child rear-facing as long as possible in accordance to the car seat manufacturers instruction. Currently, no manufacturer allows for any child under 12 months to ride forward-facing, and several require all children under 2 years to ride rear-facing (Hoffman, B., 2018) Source: www.aappublications.org/news/2018/08/30/passengersafety083018
